My cylinder leak down test results from a local Toyota dealership returned 20%. The work order says that 44% is the maximum and that 20% is good, but the technician could not answer "why?" Has anyone been told why 20% is good?

    I am getting 20-25% (retention of 75-80%) on a 2006 with 160K miles.

Misfire is most likely related to ignition, not compression.

Leak down test is used to evaluate the condition of valve seating and piston rings sealing.

Dig through the ignition circuits. I think your mechanic is looking in the wrong direction.
