Lol yeah. That was one of my first posts here. It immediately went to 67 pages or so before it got locked. I was the messenger. People wanted to shoot me.

You bought it at 78k miles, anything can happen with the previous owner, be glad they’re repairing it.

 

I find it hard to believe you bought it used from the dealer and the dealer knew nothing about this when they sold it to you.
That's low.
If they had sold it with repair records shown engine was torn apart, I bet you could have had it at a lower price.

Now that makes much more sense, in my head anyway.

 

We just got word that our 2017 Tacoma SR5 is having the exact same issue. 67K miles, so we are hoping Toyota covers it out of good will. Our other car's engine is shot as well, so we are beyond pissed.

 

Did you get Toyota to cover the repair? Same thing happened to my 17 SR5. Just under 60K miles

 

Youre asking someone who hasn't logged on in 3.5 years in a thread that stopped about the same time.
