It def made me realize how poorly setup the Tacoma actually is now. Definitely improperly tuned and taught me I can have something capable of street comfort and really soak shit up offroad. The rear is def the issue on the Tacoma.

I know what you mean. I just recently got all my suspension re-valved to my weights and exact setup from accutune, and it's night and day difference offroad. I can go a lot faster over stuff now, but am still limited in some places due to just the amount of travel I have with MT. The bronco stock has more travel which helps it go just that much faster over bigger G-outs and things.

Plenty of leaf spring rigs out there doing the go fast shit though, of course SUA but still. I have plans to make leafs work for me eventually, got no space for a link setup nor the time.

I finally made a build for the Bronco so I don't clutter this thread with two builds, you can catch it here:

    https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/im-a-horse-definitely-not-a-build.81431/

Finally an update regarding the Tacoma in here.

I wanted to take my Son and my dog camping before weather got too cold. I had the last minute idea to take one of our only free weekends and revisit Nanticoke that I last visited on a birthday trip mid pandemic. You can see details from that here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-01-build-thread.290011/page-92#post-23365031

I hit up my buddy Pat (@Rockbaron1 ) since he has been there a bunch since I have and him and his wife said they would be down to explore. I told them about my camp and they told me about a camp they had also found.

We decided our goal was to just explore, me show them my camp and ultimately end up at theirs. This would be my first mildly difficult rock crawling camping trip (aka needed lockers occasionally) that I would be taking my Son on. He's 3 now, potty trained and been camping a bunch both at camp grounds and primitive, so figured let's do it.

We took one of my favorite scenic rocky section up to the lunch spot.

On the way I tried a line I have done before but halfway through attempting it made my son get out because I can't potentially roll it with him in it on his first trip out.

[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr

Eventually gave up on the line I accomplished once before (also had none of my spares on me) and took a line to the right.

This spot was our first stop, it overlooks town. Gave us some time to eat lunch.

[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr
[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr

Yes I made us match, my wife got us these shirts and TBH I kinda love them. This is the shit I was stoked to do when the thought of having kids was even discussed.

From there we explored past the campsite I had with @Chux @HuneyBear69 and @R.A.. It took us down a fun technical windy trail that eventually led to something a little wider. From there we found an awesome overlook (but also was clearly a trashy party spot).

From here we continued to explore and didn't find anything too technical or cool minus some easy but cool solid rock face climbs. From there we started the road to camp which very much reminded me of some of the stuff we saw in VT/NH. The basic trail was bowling ball or bigger sized round rocks, washed out, and a slow steady incline. From there we made a turn onto some off camber stuff ending with a hill climb up to camp. With my bald rears and me getting my diff caught on a rock a couple times I actually needed to lock both to get up this hill. I was sweating a bit because it was uphill but also slightly off camber and the rock kept fucking up my line and pitching me to a sketchy direction. All I can say is I'm glad my son was asleep for that part.

We pull up to where we would camp and damn, it was so cool. It was up on a ridge with a giant rock face next to you. You couldn't see the river below but you knew it was there, but I was okay with not having a view of it or it being too accessible with my son. The best part is that it was private, one way in with that hill as a gate keeper.

He had a great time at camp as you can tell.

We came out the way we came in and then continued the awesome technical trail back up and out to the main trails. Overall I was stoked to find some more technical stuff in there and am actually excited to go back and explore more now.

Before we even got to the trail head I heard slight squealing when the windows were open so I knew I needed to tackle brakes when I got home. This is the first time since I put the Tundra brakes on at the end of 2019/early 2020. Super easy job. Got new pads and got the rotors turned. Also threw some more jb weld on the diff to try to keep it from leaking. The spots on the driveway are starting to get annoying.

When I was under the truck doing brakes I noticed one of my Durobumps had broken off. I messaged the contact email and Curtis replied quickly saying he will replace it, no problem. We got to talking and I realized I was part of his initial batch he ever sold on TacomaWorld. He seemed super grateful for me taking a chance on him when he launched his products originally and included a set of the bumps he sells for the front of the LCA too. Glad to see businesses stand by their products and show appreciation for their customers like that. I look forward to trying out the new set.

    Best $25 I ever spent.

Really was surprisingly fun. Been so long since I could stretch its legs and even though nothing was like "epic" it was definitely fun enough to have the itch to return.

Got out last weekend for a camp/riding trip. Not peak colors yet but was still really nice. Fucked around with long exposures with the iPhone too.

Hey got a question about your misalignment spacers. I think you said you went with the fox ones. Did you find some information stating which had the biggest offset? Thanks for you help.

No I just went off @TMFF 's recommendations when he said the FOX ones were offset but fit my shocks. I don't think there is any that is more offset from one to the other I think it is just offset and standard but I could be wrong.

Thanks. I'm using my old icons spacers right now which have a offset , but I need them for another project and I'd like the protection for my bearings. I'll give him a message. Thanks for your help.

You can run the centered spacers but you may contact the axle shaft with the lower rod end, that's the reason for the offset spacers on Best Gen's.

All parts are in stock! Don't forget the SS upgraded bearings!!

Are the offsets the same? I was running into the the axel shaft before I put in the offset spacers.

    For the most part, yes.

You are still working with the factory shock mount pocket width and if the short side gets to short the rod end will hit the inner part of the shock pocket. The rod end can still spin and rub or touch the mount but not much you can do about that besides the Fox O ring spacers. FYI, they are a wobble stopper, not a seal to keep everything out of the bearings.
