    Not much going on lately.

Went to the pines to mess around a little bit with @planters15 @theHunter and @PSUtaco

    A388E9EE-2C78-4CD9-81F7-8DD3B1D3CAB5_f67e113716d7f58155fe89f9f3cfe509dc6d0070.jpg

And decided to finally wrap up my tool box fuse and bed lights project as well as clean up some of the wiring a bit. I've been running a relatively ghetto separator that was just shoved in so I cleaned it up, painted it and riveted it in.

    E8F3357D-8168-4181-BD97-9A718E409566_a4a8446e98df379c13aeba91e9c8536ff4416661.jpg

Then I fixed my tool box lights. (additional lights were put in on the back wall of the tool box but I drilled through them when I installed the pin switch)

    D77091B9-9305-4A7E-99FC-38838655E83E_bfd029fc31778b9fbdd802f6ee40049e91a97fce.jpg

And finally the bed lights. The main purpose I needed these for was to find my anchor points when I load bikes at night, but it lights the bed decently enough to be able to see it in low light conditions.

    45A23E6F-BFF7-43BE-B0B7-D26A58883BCF_e7e691c2628e9f6d5ae9f72f5eb5bc0991a28cfd.jpg

And finally bed lights + tool box mounted lights:

    93977E7A-10C1-4B07-A89F-52E8BD476458_918c2570911f2bfd21b9cd57d0c06a28f6c86c99.jpg

Ideally I would go the better bed lights route for good adjustable camp lights and if I get a RTT/rack I can mount lights to that too to illuminate under the rack better.

Had a busy weekend knocking out punchlist stuff on the truck.

Two bolts snapped when we were pulling the fender when we tubbed the truck. I drilled those out and re-tapped them. Fun stuff. Also was very liberal with the anti seize.

    39012F8E-25A6-41D6-AC2D-EE86369B623F_9651080c8a10c65cd9e57afbeab8bc1d8981ecd0.jpg

Next project was pulling the windshield washer res that I have been rubbing against. Luckily only been rubbing the black liner and put a hole in that but no other damage otherwise.

    7E8CB095-69B6-4D6C-8B57-D7325BC65DBC_aa91379424ce8a4ee67aadbe80946ab51cfe33f1.jpg

    So much room for activities!

Next up was rebuilding the replacement. There have been a ton of way's to do this, but I loved the simplest approach I saw recently where you just get a bottle you can shove between the airbox and front rad supports. This one from walmart did nicely.

    AA132BA2-C2FF-459A-9655-0DBD3B3BAE67_f912f9083d15cfecad9aafc626f2b12bf53b63ba.jpg

    Perfect fit:

I reused the rubber grommets and used my hole saw kit to get the holes right.

    C70A6A15-DBAA-4C9C-8131-1FB40CC40A9B_59283e2176d22e4b8da207b0d8cb89d9ed7cd9a2.jpg

Did a leak test and it performed great. So I filled it up and secured it with a heavy duty 180lb zip tie. It probably wasn't even necessary but oh well.

Next up was disabling the ABS. Now I've seen a ton of info on here that kinda confused the hell out of me. Some say you can just pull the small abs fuse. Well I couldn't find the small abs fuse. Others say you need to pull the small abs fuse and the big abs fuse. They said the ABS fuse is bolted to the bottom of the fuse panel and you need to unbolt the fuse panel to access it. Well that wasn't true either because it's sealed from the bottom. Then finally I saw that the panel has an inner panel clipped in.

    Here's the panel:

And this is what the clips look like:

    A073C11B-4F3C-4221-8FDC-23AFE226586C_d2ba3b397bd6ea628fe43dca07ff6656a700002d.jpg

    There are 4.

The ABS fuse is the big yellow one. Just unbolt the bolt you see and you can yank it out.

So not big updates, but shit I've had on my list for forever and finally glad I could get them done.

Also I got an awesome Secret Santa gift this year! A 42" curved light bar! Now I just gotta get the relentless low pro mounts so I can mount it.

I'm running out of shit to do that's free/cheap! Like you know you are desperate when you CHOOSE to go drill and tap holes. Got an idea of a jerry can carrier I want to make. Got most of the materials, just need to get the cans to get dimensions and then access to a welder to put it all together.

Just realized that I was never sub'd to your build, Mike! Fixed that shit quick like!

You thinking about coming out this way for Rock Therapy by any chance? I'm hoping that by October my pile will be basically 'done'. At least the major stuff.

Nice! That's my goal for getting the truck mostly done. I'd love to have my crawl box in an dialed in for RT, but that feels really optimistic to me. I'll be happy to have everything else together by then!

I'll be pulling for you, bro!

Thanks man! yeah with the holidays done, I'm in hardcore save mode. I think you will be able to get the crawl box done by then easily. Also steal away! Think I stole it originally haha.

Spent some time in the new BPF garage last night. Love what Ant's done with the place, can basically fit 2 or maybe even 3 rows of trucks end to end in there, 2 rows and still have room to work around them haha. Plumbed for air, has the welder, has heat, has a lift. It was awesome.

First worked on fixing my 50. Welded on a new mount for the undertail exhaust, and welded the exhaust shut in one spot. Also cut it so the subframe/12 bar should hit before the exhaust if I loop it.

    58B9D2FB-5790-451B-A084-BD11AB449983_d92c7d60e6081a7c8410c8362e8db8fc5448b0f6.jpg

Next up was improving the bolt on location for the spare tire. We grabbed a piece of 3/16" flat stock, drilled it, welded the big nut to the back, and then welded it to the bed. The bed rails are so damn thin though so it took a lot of dialing in to get the welder turned all the way down, and even still I had to use the spot weld, move, spot weld method to get it to work and not blow through the material.

    F65C38CF-B503-47E3-90C2-C9655A58F3EE_2bc433eac9b585ed13ae0addb16050a8d6981af1.jpg

Next up was using @SilverGhost's method for cam tab gussets. It was tough to get the paint off and I wouldn't get it all off in some spots so the welds aren't pretty. That and I am still learning to weld so they wouldn't be pretty anyway haha. But they will hold and that's all that matters. It's just 1/4" square stock, welded behind the original cam tabs.

So damn jealous of that garage!

Glad to see the truck getting some love, Mike! I get what you're sayin about saving up. I'm doing the same thing, except it's basically paying back my savings the amount that I ran over my budget. I knew I was going to do that, but it still sucks being responsible when you just want to keep throwing money at the truck.

Right? His place is awesome and only getting better. He's getting more shelving for organization, insulating more, getting more lighting, hooking up the boiler for the radiant heat next year, it's gonna be toasty year round.

And yeah just knocking out cheap/easy projects haha I am pretty damn close to out of projects though, got ideas for making my own jerry can mount, have the materials but no cans to base it off yet. Also gotta do some leak sourcing for the tub job, clean up the interior seals, and paint all the recent welding. Also gotta get mounts for the new light bar, but thats lower on the priority list unfortunately than regearing/front locker.

Also started on this project too:

    2F0170B3-0C41-4CFB-9286-25FA9BECA820_56be4958a597fed71c439fac56c637041cadf907.jpg

I gotta split the cases now to try to get a piece welded back on. I've never dropped a motor before let alone split one open so it should be/has been interesting. :p

Can't wait to see your's on!

Helped out at a local buddies mod day recently and then went out and explored a nice spot. This place was HUGE and the one section had beach soft sand. Learned a ton about 2WD driving and sand driving in general.

Still sitting, took a break from the project to focus on some house stuff. Might jump back on it this weekend to take a break from touch up painting/spackling/sanding.
