Didn't think about the water cans. You can stay at my place and shower if you want. Do you have a planned route yet?

    Stuff. Also things.
Brett might be able to help me here, but I think we need to pull the stock speedo gears, press the gears off of both the stock and the new gears, and then press the new gear onto the stock shaft.

I think this is due to the fact that the 33t gear is actually for a 1st Gen Tundy.

    At least I think so...

It's all about the length of the shaft. If they match, no need to press gears.

My 33 tooth gear swapped right in.

One bolt to pull the sensor and a c-clip to hold it in. Should take you 5 minutes.

Thanks man I appreciate it! Ideally for the way out I am looking to just book it cross country and camp only one night on the way out to CO somewhere between St. Louis and Kansas City. Want to travel mostly at night in 13 hr sprints and would love to get to Moab a little earlier and hit some of the "easier" trails like TOTW and some other more scenic runs and save some of the harder stuff for when the actual event comes. All depends on what some of you CO guys might be into.

Good to know. You used the same part number Jason gave me? I feel like your truck is my best one for comparison to mine since you also have a 2001 V6 Manual TRD.

Yeah. It only gave old Brett some trouble being he has a cable driven speedo. Direct swap for us.

I wouldn't mind running TOTW clockwise... It would probably suck to have another group coming the other way though.

TOTW is getting beat to hell. Its getting more on the harder side of the 5-7 rating all the time.

But still totally fun and worth it.

rig on 35s won't have any issues.

I know what I'm doing today!

Totally missed that Brett had to press the gear because he has an OG 1st Gen.

If we hit it mid week it might not have much risk maybe?

As long as it's not a "risk breaking shit" kinda trail I'm happy. I would love to beat the rush and hit easier but scenic trails early in the trip and then hit harder stuff for actual Rock Therapy.

    Probably an 80k jeep...

Ha very true, I guess I mean "less" risk but that also always depends on the driver and the lines you take too haha.

I don't think going mid week is an automatic for no crowds this time of year. Hell, when we were there in October it was mid week and we somehow ended up in the middle of a pack of FOG heeps.

You guys would definitely know better than me. Not sure if it's better to get there before the event with a smaller group and then roll out after or get there for the event and stay the week after.

Well totw is just one of the more popular trails. Unavoidable really at any of the well know trails.

Dude that should be a fun as heck trip. I got one of those trips planned out, but it won't be until 2 yrs fro, now. You Def gotta take some spare parts as precaution. You can also borrow my cap if you need to sleep out of your truck, and maybe save in that area a Lil bit.

TOTW night run... If you stay right at the split it's pretty mild. There are bypasses around a few of the obstacles. If you do run into trouble you won't be waiting long until someone finds you.
