You don't need a locker at all for the Kokopelli.

Don't worry, I like making fun of Jason's slow progress as much as anybody.

May be interested in hitting the kokopelli again, keep me updated.

Solid pinion spacer too? Good timing, especially since they are throwing in free compressors.

In the front diff? No, he said those with the Arb's shouldn't really need the spacer, I asked about it. I honestly don't know what the spacer does. :anonymous: any insight?

From my understanding it is what keeps the backlash. Oem uses a crush sleave so if you ever need to remove the nut you have a good chance of changing your backlash. I could be wrong

Sounds like you're talking about the ECGS bushing. ARB replaces the inferior OEM design.

You would still probably want solid pinion spacers. ARB has no effect on that.

It's all good, man! If shame and mockery help me get this damn thing done for RT, then I'll take it.
I wouldn't expect any less of you assholes! Bring it on!

This is my understanding as well. The ARB replaces the needle bearing that causes so many problems on these trucks. In fact, you can see the new bushing in the clamshell on the side that accepts the stub shaft, I believe.

Definitely a nice bonus after shelling out the money for the locker.

The crush sleeve is a single time use. There is also a tendency to hit the pinion flange on a rock and forcibly crush the sleeve past what the original gear set pinion preload was set at causing premature wear on bearings etc.

Now that's worst case scenario......and it's less of a problem with the ifs diff because it's usually covered by skids and tucked up.

What it does help with is that, if you have a pinion seal go bad or fubar a pinion flange, then when replacing you have the possibility of crushing the sleeve further on reinstall when torquing everything back to spec.

Thanks guys, I'll call ECGS today. I figure considering the shit water I drive through all the time, a bad pinion seal is a possible issue one day.
