Nice to see j0hnny5 almost molting into his final form.

When are you planning on going to MOAB?

 And semi-final, J5 is always evolving. He needs about $6-7k in suspension and body work to be in final form lol And I leave for Moab in a month to the day. So nervous but so stoked. How have you been Jeff? Lil' Kim is long gone right?

Lil Kim is gone! Found a new home in Texas.

Don't be nervous. I'm jelly as all hell. Moab trip was on my bucket list.

It still can be! Just because it needed to be postponed because life happened, doesn't mean it can't still happen.

Did a working test of the Moab setup this weekend. Think I worked out the biggest kinks of my missing camp stuff. This is what the bed looks like fully loaded. Thinking about a cargo net kinda option to secure the items but for the most part everything was packed so tightly that movement was minimal.

Also went to IBSP for the first time with @Chux and @Wheelspinner

After that we all went to a private spot to camp. It was so nice having the whole crew together for a meet.

It was also Mac's first camp trip too. She loved it and her, Clark and Ziggy played all night.

Thanks guys, that's my hope. Hope for the best but plan for the worst. I want to make sure I try to take into account any possible risk.

So I gotta shout out a huge fucking thank you to @planters15 for letting me borrow his beast of a fridge for my trip to Moab. This is why I love all the NJ/PA/NY DB's, because we all help each other out like this. I promise to take good care of it man!

Sometimes the sand can be more challenging though less risk. That was a funky line where a previously single locked truck needed a winch but double locked was no issue.

I built a thing at BPF this weekend. Figured it would be a good project to practice my welding as well as getting the satisfaction of designing and building something myself. Big thanks as always to Ant for letting me use his welder and shop to build this thing. I had a couple requirements when designing my Jerry can holder. It needed to be able to hold my water can without needing to remove the front spout. It needed to be able to comfortably hold 1 can, both cans, a water and gas can or both gas cans. And last but not least, it needed to be lockable.

Luckily I pre-cut everything so it was a matter of final welding everything. @V5ioV made a good point that it looked damn good when I just had it all tacked together but when I did final welds they were a mess. Some I was really proud of, others not so much. Either way I am really proud of the way it came out and stoked I made something from raw materials.

I gotta build some kind of locking latch for my jerry can holder. Is that a regular gate hinge that you used for the top latch Mike?

The hinge itself is actually a heavy duty door hinge. The latch portion is a hinge latch that I cut the hinge off to weld directly to the straps. I can take better pics tonight. @Subway4X4 Also just a heads up I signed up for that REI membership and the 15% coupon they give was only on REI brand or Novara items, so wasn't able to get it on the Garmin. Hoping to get a 20% before I leave though, but doubtful.
