Haha I grinded a bunch of the stuff you can see all the time but didn't fuck with most of the shit hidden by the cans. I'll be happy to practice with it while you aren't :p

Looking good, man. Watching you and @jubei scrambling to prepare has me excited for the trip I'm not even a part of. Ha ha. Can't wait to see the pics.

Good call! Didn't even think of that. Will need to do it next time I get my hands on a welder again. Also I meant to tell you that Lucas stuff definitely helped my pump. Slowly getting more and more in with a baster, enough to at least not annoy the shit out of my on my trek out west.

Like when you put on safety glasses instead of your welding mask and realize they aren't the same... :anonymous:

Lol definitely wish I wasn't scrambling as much as I am. Been prepping slowly for months but still have shit to figure out at the last minute which is frustrating. A lot of it is me getting to shit that I didn't think I would have. I definitely will be taking a lot of photos, who knows when I'll be able to take an adventure like this on again.

I'm pretty much equal parts excitement and anxiety at this point.

I don't like that I'll be rolling into Moab with a bunch of new and unproven gear, but this summer was a shit show at work until I started forcing myself to push back. It is what it is. Thankfully, I'm only hours from home instead of days like Mike, so I don't have to prep quite to the extent that he does.

I'll tell you what, though, his excitement is definitely contagious. And watching @Reh5108 tear down and rebuild the top end of his motor before the trip helped get my motivation back too. It's awesome that both those guys are solid dudes and we'll definitely be a strong group.

    I can't wait!

By the way, Mike, I have all the stuff I need for my CO2 actuated front locker! Got the tanks filled this weekend, and now the switches are wired up. Just need to wire in the solenoid, plumb it, and verify that it's working! Gotta do the same for the e-locker too, since I put it on an aftermarket switch.

Bed rack will be done on Thursday when my buddy and I weld the light tabs on for the mounting hardware. Then I just need to run the new coax to my CB antenna and get it tuned. That should be the last of the 'must complete' stuff. If I have time, I'm gonna try to burn in my frame plates too.

I'm glad I helped your motivation with that project it took away mine haha kind of gets annoying doing more maintenance than modding lol Truck is in serious need of a new power plant though. I took the Nest off to haul wood and an empty bed gives it more life!

And just curious, why co2 activated?

Haha! Well, I was impressed by the fact that you did it. I haven't had a reason to get into the guts of my motor yet (thankfully), but I'll damn sure give it a shot myself when the time comes.

The CO2 thing is just expediency. Until I move a bunch of shit around for my dual battery setup, I don't have a home for my compressor. So after seeing Monte run Frank's front ARB off of paintball tanks, I went that route for now. It's stupid simple and pretty cheap. I'll have a 12oz bottle for the locker and another as a backup.

Honestly, once the cover is off things start to make sense on how they work. So it's not as bad as it may seem.

Right on. I had thought about doing that with a 4500 psi pb tank. I need up find a used compressor for a good deal though. I'd imagine if a paintball gun can get close to 2000 shots out of a 68 cubic inch tank a locker could do the same or better since it uses less pressure. Except I'm not factoring how much volume it takes to fill the hose and locker. Not sure how much it takes to launch a paintball either. Either way it would be plenty of activations before needed a fill and you'd have a guage to see how much air is left. My locker leaks like a mofo sometimes so I'd have been screwed.

Awesome dude! Yeah having the front locker will definitely be nice. Would suck to go and not have all the traction you want. I think you will be really happy with how the truck will perform off-road doing some of the harder stuff. This trip is going to be epic. Been looking at past RT pics all week.

Got the can holder painted and mounted. Used nutserts on the side of the bed thanks to @loosnut and bolts/fender washers through the bed. Came out pretty good. I did need to cut the bed a little to make the one corner fit.

My patch collection is more for commemorating adventures, not just because. The blue ridge parkway one is for the adventure I had in VA last year.

Tore the interior apart to install the ARB plug I got. Just got their wiring kit which made it really easy and would be cheaper than making it myself.

Also moved my external CB speaker because I hit my head on it a few times at the one wheeling trip and I think in a potential rollover it could knock me the fuck out.

    This was the old spot:

New spot which is higher and further backward:

Also got this guy for some piece of mind to stay in contact with my wife on the trip. Already loaded all my tracks on here and my Gaia app.

Looks like you are ready for the trip.

Hey mike i been meaning to ask you, did your radio reception get better with the automatic antenna you mounted. For some reason my radio is very stat-icky
and i don't know if it is the radio or the antenna itself.

Mine was staticky and I switched to a different antenna. Still staticky.

One day, I switched off my LED front aux lights, voila... static gone.

Crap so something must be creating my static. I don't have led aux lights as of now, just projector lights with a HID kit

After the stock antenna got ripped off I didn't have a radio for a long time. Now I have a good radio signal but hard to tell if it was better or worse than before. Do you have an aftermarket head unit? I would trace the antenna wire and make sure it has a good connection.

I do have an aftermarket unit, and the sound has been fine, but lately, I would say maybe in the past yr the signal has had static
