Lmao yeah I was going back and for between Nas and SOAD that night. Two opposite ends of the spectrum.

Nice work, just did the same to my rig. Who brews that 10W-40?

My wife picked it up for me in Nashville when she was there for a bachelorette party. It's made by a company called Hi-Wire brewing in North Carolina:

    https://hiwirebrewing.com/specialty-beers/10w-40-imperial-stout/

It was a little sweet for my taste but it was a pretty damn good beer too. Would definitely like to pick some up for colder weather camping. Hoping I can even find it in Jersey.

@ToyRyd04 if you see any of this locally, pick me up a can or 2 if you can and I'll give you dough at Big Dogs

    Awesome, thanks dude!

Haha that's funny, I must have not realized it was you when you did :p

Winch progress is coming along pretty well. Grill is for the most part all cut, just need to do some repair work to make it look the way I want it to.

I painted the box and final mounted the isolator and solenoid to it:

[IMG]IMG_0102 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

I then put it in the bay and did all the final sheathing on all of the wires/and put them on in an organized way to keep them safe and together.

[IMG]IMG_0103 by Michael Halat, on Flickr
[IMG]IMG_0104 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

This is the final result of everything back in the engine bay:

[IMG]IMG_0143 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

I tested the isolator here before even bothering starting switch wiring. After functionality of the isolator was confirmed I worked on the switches:

[IMG]IMG_0139 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

I wanted to have a couple different fail safes in place for the winch and the power going to it. The first fail safe is that it's on a switch. The second failsafe is that the key needs to be in the ignition and the ignition needs to be on ACC to get power to the switch. If I need to turn the winch off in a hurry I can tunr the ignition off or hit the switch.

[IMG]IMG_0146 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

I also prewired a switch for the rock lights I have on the way. Now when they come in it's just a matter of connecting them and mounting them.

That's the goal! Rock lights went up on this list of mods specifically because of this event. The winch on the other hand was just a great deal that fell in my lap. :p

So after hours and hours of cutting, sanding, test fitting and plastic welding I finally finished the Toywerx grill. I wanted to save as much of it as possible. The hardest part was plastic welding the front painted plastic in the middle and reinforcing the edges of the painted portion to stick to the inner black portion. I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

The clutch engagement is accessible but super tucked.

[IMG]IMG_0179 by Michael Halat, on Flickr

Now I just need my new fairlead to come in so I can spool it up.

Also got these things in. Wanted the regular ones TBH but they were out of the flex pro regular lights.

Is the rope not going to hit the center plastic piece?

I'm hoping not but won't know till I spool up. Worse comes to worse I can trim it some more. I cut quite a bit out of it already but it's only crossing into the spool zone about 1/2".

Unless you spool it perfectly every time, or have shorter/smaller diameter rope, it will extend past the edge of the spool.

Yes but as each build page progresses he’s coming out the overland closet.. it’s not easy for everyone.. Some know right away others stay in denial longer. He has a camp kitchen! I never saw that coming. Mike, from one overlander to another.. it’s ok brotha, I support your secret overland build. If you want to drive as remote as possible and sit at camp making chicken francese, wake up to some eggs benedict and possibly an expresso.. you do you. If your patch collection gets out of hand, you do you. If you wanna turn all your offroad lights on and take a picture for the gram, just don’t forget #overland. :p

Just finished the rock lights last night and I'm really happy with how they came out. The blue is a little strong so I wouldn't mind getting some more white, but still happy with brightness and coverage.
