Pretty cool storage idea. What's the mileage cutoff for an overloading trip vs a camping/wheeling trip? :D

Well it's gotta be over 125 miles cause that's how far I go one way just to wheel the "local" park. :p

That's about the same for me. Takes 4 days of planning and I have 3 paper maps to back up my 4 GPS units, 2 tablets and a laptop.

Little update... guess I properly ruffled some feathers enough to get another broverland instaglammer to post this photo of their local NE calendar.

Guess people are realizing I am the cynical asshole I always said I was. I found it pretty hilarious.

Did some hiking with my wife.

Wife's still cranking out miles of hiking at 6 months pregnant which is awesome.

Went on a social distancing trip for my bday with @Chux @HuneyBear69 and @R.A.. We kept it small to try to keep 6 feet.

The first day was in the 70's, the next day turned to rain all day and into snow. Got a little bit of everything (weird for May) and was cool to explore some place new. Was really slick so it made stuff way more challenging.

The first night we also drank whiskey and messed with long exposure/light painting. Some favorites:

The only casualty was one valve stem that's been kinda fucked for a year and then got fully fucked on this trip. Gave me a chance to test out the Colby valve. Super easy to use.

Well I just bought another project. I clearly didn't have enough already to keep me busy...

From what I can tell it was a 2nd gen all pro long bed rack that was then modified to accept a custom canvas and then a custom canvas was made for it. The attention to detail on the canvas is nuts. The 2nd gen rack doesn't go all the way to the end of the truck so it looks a little funny. Also the base was designed to the 2nd gen taper.

    So the current plans are:
build a new base out of 1.5" angle, cut this base off and weld the rack to the new base.
prep the base to accept a back door piece, and get a custom back door to nicely integrate into the current canvas. It will be fast back style, almost like the softopper brands rears.
I also need to wire wheel and paint the fuck out of it.

Currently painting the babies room, but did hang out at BPF with @6 gearT444E and laid my old christmas tree to rest.

On the way home I picked up enough material to keep me busy for a while again.

All 3/4" hickory. We are super stoked on it. They did the first floor, entry stairs, stairs going to the second floor and new tile in the entry, kitchen and laundry room.

Started ripping into the truck again.

[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr

    The current plans/mods incoming:

    Reverse camera install
Ditch light brackets that will double as antenna mounts
    Am fm cb style antenna
CB antenna move to the bracket
    Cali raised led ditch lights

[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr
[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr

I'll be cutting and welding the antenna extensions to the brackets after I check all the clearances.

Lolol why on the harness? It seems pretty well made to me.

And yeah the camera can be front or rear facing.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HNFWSQN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1

So far I really like the camera's setup overall. Picture quality isn't great but I can see if my rear bumper will smash into something before I do.

It's that dumbass switch they have that stays illuminated when off, great feature:homer:. There was some other parts of it that pissed me off but I cant remember.

Thanks for the info on the camera, I want to mount one up front so I can actually see where I'm going when creating a climb offroad.
