Always liked the idea of a front one but never was sure if I'd have one that lets me see the tires, which matters to me the most. And I can imagine that with that switch. I actually plan on splicing the switch provided and hooking it up to one of my OTRATTW switches.

Is it supposed to get brighter (basically just less covered) when the lights are on - I think the idea is to make them visible at night but I’m only speaking from experience with a switch I installed a long time ago that I can’t remember if it came with their lights or off Amazon.

Nope it's a switch that has a Red LED that stays on when off, I think there is a green one that pops on when you turn it on. No parasitic draw or anything... I replaced it with a cheap 2 way from autozone.

@cynicalrider I wheeled with a 2nd gen guy that had a forward faceing camera and that's where I got the idea from. I get freaked out cresting a hill and hopeing it doesnt drop off to one side or some other surprise waiting for me on the other side, especially in the south east wooded craziness we both wheel in.

As cool as that sounds, at what point does it take away the skill of the “feel” you have? There is something to be said to having a feel of what feels right and wrong and being able to navigate something based on feel, without a spotter. That being said the tech nerd in me loves it :p

It's the only way I can stay sane and keep track of it all. Set myself up for several more projects at this point.

I currently have materials for these truck mods:

    Bed rack refinish/base rebuild
    Redo the rock lights/harness
    Bed organization redo
    Finish the glare shield

    And garage mods:

Shelf to display R6 front end with lights functioning on switch/old helmets
    Welding Table
    Random shelving for extra storage
    Potentially additional fan

After the current mods are complete though I'll take the rack off and run the truck in a minimalist form so I can take it for a quick rip in the pines here and there. Not using it has been bumming me out.

This is hands down the best garage mod that I've done. Mine's 8' wide and 28" deep. And I made it tall, around 40" so I don't have to hunch over to work on stuff. I'm not sure how I survived without it.

Yeah mine will not be something that is available to use all the time. With the limited space I have in the garage and multiple uses the garage has, I want it to be stowable essentially. The reason for this is it will force me to not make it another shelf like my current work bench is. It will fold up from the wall with two legs that will also swing out from the wall. Thinking 2.5x5, 3 feet tall. This way I can stand or sit at it.

That's been the struggle for me, not just storing a whole bunch of shit on it. So far I've done good but we'll see if that continues. I like the idea of a fold-up table, that will be nice.

Okay well this projects finally for the most part wrapped up.

    New mods include:

Reverse camera - Displayed in the head unit, triggered by reverse. Can also be viewed at anytime hitting the input button on the head unit.
CBI ditch light brackets with welded on extensions
Cali raised LED side shooter pods - The goal here is to have ditch lights and use the side shooter portion to light up the direct left and right of me. This will be useful for finding campsites at night. Also noticed this was a major dead zone when night wheeling.
Fresh headlights and turn signals (finally color matched too) - Beamtech LED's installed in the headlights
CB Antenna on drivers side bracket
AM/FM antenna on passenger bracket (stealth mode electric antenna broke in sub zero temps)
Hella super tones behind the grill

    Some pictures:

Cleaned a bunch of old wiring.

    Horns:

I ended up needing to move them further back though since they were contacting the grill.

    Redid the blinker relocation mod:

Did everything I could to ensure proper ground to the truck. I even got special copper anti seize for the bolts:

Did you re-aim the new headlights? I did once I put in new headlights and it was amazing how much better the beam pattern was and how many less flashes I got at night lol

That's tonight's project, going to tune the CB, aim the headlights and aim the pods. I think I am going to try to wrap up my glare shield next.
