They probably would have given them to me too but I asked them not to install the new leafs so it was probably forgotten. I already sold those leafs, but still have the stock shackles at least in case I ever wanted to go back to stock length.

Alright, getting closer to getting this thing back on the road!

Torqued the rest of the front end.

I have a question about UBJ's for those who replaced/ removed the castle from the stock ones before:

Did you get your castle nut to torque? I had it torqued to like 55 ft lbs and could spin it more but the castle was about to go below the hole on the stud.

    Please let me know.

Digging the look of the beefed spindles though.

I also ran the air line to the front diff. I opted to put 2 ft of fuel hose on it for the section that goes through the frame and past the exhaust manifold. Want to try to protect the line from any abrasion or heat if I can.

I filled the diff's this morning and I'm almost ready to rock. The last issue is building block off's for the ABS sensors. I am going to try to put a rubber stopper in the hole below the level of the top, make a block off plate of 1/8" steel and seal it all with adhesive RTV.

Hope it works because I really don't want shit getting in there and fucking up the new bearings.

Good job protecting that air line. That's thinking ahead. I've seen way too many on the trail with melted or scraped through air lines, after they are stuck of course. They never have anything to repair it with either.

Alright well diff's are packed and ready to go to ECGS.

Everything is torqued and the diff's are filled. Last step was to create block off plates for the ABS.

I got these plugs from Home Depot as well as a piece of 1 1/4" 1/8" thick steel.

    1E6AE1AF-4267-4E82-B521-7C5196E31221.jpg

I measured how deep the inner ledge is inside and cut the plug so it's around that length as well as trimmed the stopper that will be too small or two big for the hole.

    BF209E83-A27F-4EDB-A505-67BFA52271E8_1.jpg

Then shoved it in both sides:

    9EB49395-7D7A-4826-AD02-C16481D47832_50e76c212a14f8b1d1266e13364ca1783c2fc8c0.jpg

Next step was fabbing the plates. Really wish I had a bench grinder for this lol but an angle grinder did pretty well.

    2C56C585-F3DA-481F-821F-A804C8CDD838 (1).jpg

I cleaned the plates with denatured alcohol and primed and painted the top. I left the bottom bare so the adhesive can go metal to metal.

    5C74FC42-AA66-43B7-8C80-E4F476C7A9CE.jpg

Applied the adhesive and also filled in the top of the plug with adhesive RTV.

    Then bolted the plates down.

    3F386411-0B3C-4DDB-89D2-E4D0B1D39D7E.jpg

    Should hopefully do the trick.

Also @ToyRyd04 @Digiratus and @Blackdawg my alternator is being a dick again. It always still squealed like a mother fucker and get hot if I didn't start the truck for a couple days. I think it was intermittently seizing. Going to pull it, get it replaced, and replace the belt with a fresh one. We'll see if that fixes my issue. I was so pissed because the truck was finally ready to pull out of the garage and this shit happened. Oh well, rather find out now than leaving work one day or something.

Also found out I put the rear diff in locked. Apparently that's the only way to get it in or out? I don't remember locking the rear to get it out though... Oh well pulled the actuator this morning and unlocked it. I just want to test and break in these damn gears! :annoyed:

I've had mine squeal the belt a tad after a night of camping. The battery would be a bit drained at that point so the alternator is charging at full tilt. That load on the alt is enough to cause some slip on the belt. Could be what you are seeing, depending upon the severity of your squeal.

How low is your battery when it occurs? Be interesting to note the relaxed voltage after a couple of days just sitting.

I don't think so, can't see anything new that would be creating one. If I put it on a tender and then start it after it's been on a while that would take that out of the equation right? And it's not a slight squeal, it's loud as fuck and the pulley gets 30-50 degrees hotter than the other pulleys.

I wouldn't think so, I can try to loosen it and see though. I thought it would squeal if it's too loose though, not too tight?

If it's getting super hot, that too me says too tight.

Should be able to push the belt down with your finger about 1/8"

Yeah def not too tight, checked deflection first when this all started happening. Plus it wouldn't have happened intermittently like it's been I feel. It's under warranty anyway, going to go fresh belt and alt and see what comes of it. Sadly I feel I won't get to it for a bit but for a good reason. My wife always have wanted a pup, and we finally made that dream come true.

Meet Macaroni, our blue heeler mix. She's adorable as hell but a handful. I can't wait to take her hiking and camping.
