    ...stuff
true. But I kind of view the 3rd generation suspension as not properly tuned for the trucks and they are all bad. It’s almost like they told Bilstein how to tune the suspension compared to the 2nd gens, but then forgot to tell them it’ll be lifted 1 inch higher

I want something that isn’t harsh on the road.. it feels to soft to me currently which “I think” is why it doesn’t take highway bumps well and makes it feel like I’m gonna hop off the road. I want a happy medium between excellent ride quality on road and off road. I was looking at fox 2.0 but don’t know if that’s better than Bilstein 5100?

If it feels like it’ll hop off, that means it’s firm. Soft means it’ll just run right over it (cab will stay in place and suspension does all the moving) which is why I think you should get away from Digressive valving (icon/Bilstein) since they are firm. Fox 2.0 are pretty good. I was thinking of getting them to upgrade my Bilstein 6112/5160, but I didn’t want to not like em and have to buy suspension a third time in less that 2 years so I just went all out.

    What's your current tire pressure?

Tire pressure can sometimes be the best free mod out there. If the tire pressure is too high, then you'll get bumpy bouncy. Lower it a little bit and see how you feel about it.

To add to this line of thinking, what tires are on your truck? I just changed from P-rated winter tires to LT D range MT tires and the ride is vastly improved. Some tires have more “bounce” than others too.

There’s a big frost heave on the highway on my way home. On the winter tires (265/70-16 at 30psi) I would get damn near launched off the road. On the new MT tires at 38psi it just hits and keeps moving.

low tire pressures will soak up small bumps fine but give vague handling and not take the hit from big bumps. High pressures will feel nervous handling and transmit every crack and rock on the road. The right pressure is in the middle and balances good handling with good ride and good shock absorption.

The other part of the bad bump handling is the stock rear springs are fairly soft. It’s easy to blow through the available travel with a big hit.

Anyone know how much or where to find info on how much a used 2017 TRDOR stock suspension is worth? 70,000 miles on them. No issues with it, just installed the Ironman foam cell pro stage 2.

i would probably say $200ish? selling a leaf pack too? maybe more if so

but i have no idea. i bought 3rd gen trd sport front coilovers, rear shocks, and ucas, for $100 and a free set of stock tsb leafs.

i think that was a good deal though

The sport shocks are the stiffest among the stock suspension, you will still dance over chatter in the road. Best bet imho are the trd pro fox's

The sport shocks are special shocks needed to harness the raw, unadulterated power of the skewp! If they were put on an Offroad, the truck would cease to exist. Only use the Sport shocks if you have a skewp!
