Two year daily driver with it removed. I don't even notice that it's missing, but my setup isn't exactly traditional, so I have a lot of help.

I initally kept mine on after the icon lift, but I would hit a bump and it would throw me around, also was dissapointed with the ride, so I ditched the swaybar and it is sooo much nicer to drive it soaks up the bumps feels more controlled and rides a hell of alot better.

Haven't had mine on since I went with Icons. My truck feels more planted than it did with the factory tires and suspension.

Had mine off for a year. 5100's in the front with 885 coils and super bumps, Dakars with aal in the rear with superbumps and 3/8" spacers. Truck is currently carrying a lot of weight. It will lean until it hits the bumps and then stop.

    You've never heard that?

As in never swerve to avoid a deer, dog, animal of whatever sorts?

I suppose if you have time and space to gently steer around an obstacle you have time and space to slow down or stop too.

We only worry about rabbits out here. They don't make big enough dents to swerve. :burnrubber:

Been running without one for a long time and will not go back, on road ride is so much better as is off road (obviously). Yes there is more body roll but not OMG IM GOING to die like the below quote makes it seem.... You could roll one of these trucks JUST as easy with a sway bar as without.

Now i wouldnt run without if i had a bed rack and a RTT up tall.

FYI im running stock TRD OR coils with 5100's at 1.75

incorrect. truck rolls EASIER without a sway bar

that is what they are for. how can you post something so wrong is inconceivable

sure remove sway bar, it rides like a marshmallow...fine.
but in traffic you think the anti-roll function of a sway bar is
plainly cosmetic and has zero function ? you been smoking the wrong stuff

OK, fine... yes you are right.... with the sway bar on it will not roll as easy.

But any idiot that gets in a one of these trucks lifted and grabs a handfull of wheel at speed is asking for a roll over regardless of a sway bar or not... they are simply high roll over risk to begin with.

FYI, from the looks of it, no laws require a sway bar to be installed on your vehicle in CA.

Those lifted big diesel bro trucks are surely to roll over WAY sooner than my lil taco with a 2 in lift n no sway bar.

Best advice is DoorDing take it off and test it for yourself. Every rig will handle different depending on the coil spring rate, tire pressure and weight of the components bolted to it. I didn't run one on my FJ80 for many years in the front but I left the rear in place because the roofrack with loaded weight balanced the handling and it wheeled like a beast. That said I sold it back in December and the new owner driving in Dallas traffic was scared to drive it without the swaybar and put it back on. I'm currently building a 2013 TRD DCSB and adding a set of 5100's/AllPro UCA's with a set of stock 2015 coils. I'm gonna see for myself how it handles to whether I leave it off or put it back on. I also have an ARE top with plans for a drawer/deck system. On a side note
127.0.0.1 makes a good point the swaybar was designed to and does limit rollovers scenarios it reduces the chance of the suspension rebounding past a limit that would carry it over. It wouldn't be there if it served no purpose. Young people cruising these forums to make modifications to their vehicles need to understand the risks they take when removing these components they don't have the seat time or experience some of us do. Personally I wouldn't allow my teenager to remove one on his vehicle for safety concerns.

Pickup trucks are registered in California as commercial vehicles, no? Silly as they law sounds CVC (393.207(a)) may still apply.

Still waiting for a study comparing the likelihood of a rollover between identical vehicles plus/minus sway bar.:cookiemonster:

We don't need a study or Mythbusters episode. Fairly simple math and/or common sense are both enough to know that a roll over is less likely with a sway bar than without. Even with an upgraded suspension system that is more stable on the road than stock a sway bar will further improve emergency handling.

Im running full OME suspension with 884 coils and no sway bar the front end dips a little bit but the tacomas are so tight from the factory it does not make if feel unsafe at all. very happy with removing it!
