I'd like you guys to see my project girl. I bought her 3 years ago as a complete truck. It had a 235 and 4 speed behind it. With a last known registration of 94' I brought her home changed the points poured gas in the carb and bam! She was running. Once I knew it was safe after doing all the brakes, and a few other engine issues sorted I drove her locally for 2 years.
About a year ago my father in law and I pulled the factory drive train and I slowly started my build.

Here is the parts list and the photos.
Some are before it was torn down and it will look similar only lowered more.

    327 V8
    S-10 T5
    Speedway Drop Axle
    Dana 44 rear
    3" lowering leafs
    C-10 Power steering
    Disc brake conversion up front
    Factory Location 7" Brake booster
    15x8 Steelies
    Coker Classic white walls

I buffed the firewall and planed on painting it the factory green. But decided to just satin clear it.

I wire wheeled the bottom of the cab and used Rust Shield paint and will spray underbody coating once dry.

We finished the brake lines and then mounted the cab. I'm getting excited!

And that's where it sits now. Once it's assembled I'll be doing the interior. Rust prevention, paint, and sound deadening. Carpet and seat covering after that. Hopefully it will be on the road next month sometime. Thanks for looking!

Nice. I wish my car had a straight rail frame and leaf spring front instead of a X frame and IFS.

The engine is Chevy orange. It's a high heat rattle can.

The frame is painted with Rust Shield from SEM.

Is the engine VHT or Duplicolor?

Asking because my own project 327 is VHT coated, and everything is good except the paint on the block didn't adhere to the primer on the block.

Paint and primer are good to go on the oil pan, valve and timing covers. Primer is good on the block, just the paint is flaking off. :bananadead:

Curious if you used the same product and had any issues. Google tells me it's common with VHT/Duplicolor.

Mine is Duplicolor. I hope it doesn't flake.

If it looks good now you'll probably be okay.

Mine is still on an engine stand and I didn't notice bubbles in the paint for about a week.

Not sure what to do now. VHT is owned by Duplicolor and neither responded to email about what might be causing my issue.

Anyway, thanks for answering about the frame. I'll be doing this myself, probably this summer - so saving all this info.

Looks awesome! I'm surprised the body is in such great condition. Was it sitting in a barn? What's the history of it?

Great work! As a Mustang guy (unibody), I'm always jealous of GM and their body on frame design. Makes it so much easier to clean up frames, run brake/fuel lines, and mock up engines and drivetrains. It looks like you did a great job with everything. Call me crazy, but I love the "rat rod" look of the clean frame/motor/wheels/tires with the patina body.

It's staying with what's there. Patina

Thanks. Yeah it was pretty easy to do lines. I used a copper nickel line. It's super easy to work with using a handheld bender.
Please don't think I'm rude but a rat rod is the cobbled together, street signs for floor pans, and barbed wire for spark plug wires vehicle. Mine is just an all original exterior. "Patina"

Yeah I'm trying. Copied the img links like I have done on forums for 10 years. Now they don't work no mo. Weird. I'll drop them when I get home.
