Couldn’t find a good thread in search for this, maybe because it’s a dumb question. I recently installed a Dakar OME lift with no AAL, and after loading the back I realized I should have definitely added it. I just bought the AAL from wheelers (I also got the original kit from them). When they showed up I started to question this leaf though, one side is squared and the other is tapered. I don’t see how this fits in the leaf pack when all other leafs are tapered on both ends. I called Wheelers and they told me to take a picture and email them… but I haven’t heard back yet so I’m stuck for the weekend. Anyone have any input? the AAl listing says it’s for leaf set cs046r, which I couldn’t match with any part number on my set, but when I bought the set it linked to the d43xl aal as an option, which is the one I just ordered. What am I missing here?

Hey! I don't know the answer to your question but I was curious as I'm about to do the same thing since I ordered the mediums but was curious if you got longer U-bolts or are just going to use the bolts that came with the mediums?

The squared end faces forward. Once installed, its position is #3.

    Here's a snip from Wheeler's when I asked the same -

For the center pin torque, I used factory spec which is 33 ftlbs. Feel free to reach out to ARB tech support. They can confirm. 1-866-293-9078

    Snippet from another re-seller -

You will need longer u-bolts - at least I did. I want to say the center pin as well, can't remember for sure.

That was very helpful Mike, thank you. Thanks especially for the torque spec info, that was hard to find anyways.
It seems strange to me that these add-a-leafs don't have the drilled out holes for spacers on either end if they go 3rd from the top---all the other leafs are spaced. I'm not sure if I want to install these things after all, seems like I might be better off doing an airbag set up in the end anyways.

Thx Mike! I see this and appreciate it. I'm on the fence about install, might go the airbag route.

Hi I'm wondering if you went with airbags? Like you I installed the dakars and was not happy w/weight support, wished I woulda gotten the AAL's (IDK if ARB sells them w/the AAL assembled as part of the pack), got them but now am wondering if airbags are in order. Any tips? A friend said buy a kit from 'Airlift'.

I ended up going with custom Alcans. World of difference, especially with vibration at highway speed. Wish I would’ve never bothered with the OME.

With that being said, I may end up adding airbags anyways, but only because I underestimated the weight when ordering my set. Alcan will make a set it your exact height and weight requirements

Thx for the info., never heard of Alcan but most of this is new to me. I put on the add a leafs and like you was sort of mystified why they aren't drilled out for the spacers, I just put 'em on w/out holes and spacers.
