    Searched but didnt find exactly what I was looking for. Just purchased a brand new set of Dakar leafs and I pressed out the original bushing in favor of some poly bushings. Im using the Daystar kit with the greasable bolt but the bushings fit loose in the main eye? Like they just fall out. This doesn't seem normal. Do I need to use the outer sleeves from the original OME bushings during the install? The OD of the original OME bushings are 1.575" and the Daystars are 1.550", the ID of the OME outer bushing sleeve looks like 1.455" so I doubt the bushing would fit in the sleeves. :confused:

    Thanks

    Are you talking about the front bushing (the main eye bushing) or the rear bushing with the shackle?

    The front one on Dakars requires the specific front main eye rubber bushing that Toyota uses *I think*...been awhile since I ran Dakars. But I don't think those poly bushings will fit right in there like you've discovered.

    @TRCHST

    I'll bet you those Daystar bushings are meant to replace your factory main spring bushings.

    Here's what you need - Just invest in a high quality grease when you install the new bushings.

    The ones pressed in from OME squeak like hell and only by replacing them and lubing them up with a quality grease will help keep things quiet.

    @eon_blue the front main eye bushing
    @Kwikvette I believe you are right. I assumed the dakars had the same size bushings as the oem springs.

    Thanks guys just wanted to confirm before I returned/ordered new bushings

    I did the same thing with my Dakar leafs and used just the Daystar greasable bolts. Not perfect but it does help and work. Check my build thread, the info is in there somewhere.

    @xtremewlr You used the Wheelers bushings with the Daystar bolts?

    Be careful mixing and matching aftermarket parts. Some use metric, some use english. YMMV.
