Dakar HD Spring compatibility

Hey guys so I’m upgrading the suspension on my tacoma, previous owner already has a lift done from what looks like to be a leveling kit.

So I’m going with the HD Dakar leafs from OME and really want to go with the 5160’s in the rear as it’s a superior shock to the 5125’s, but as you know the 5160’s are only for 0-2” of lift whereas the 5125’s will get me the 3” I need for the Dakar HD springs so I’m not maxing our the struts before the leafs get their full range of motion.

Does anybody know if bilstein makes a remorse reservoir rear shock that can extend this height for the HD leafs or am I stuck spending $800 on the Fox 2.5s if I want a remote reservoir?

 

Plenty of people use Dakars with 5160’s. If you go with extended shocks consider the minimum shock length for when you bottom out.

 

I was reading that many people use the 5160’s with the regular duty Dakar’s but didn’t see much about people running them with the HD when I was doing my due diligence and searching around the forum. But I’m new here and I value your input over my own lol.

No big issue with the 5160’s being only 2” I’d lift vs the 2.75” the HD springs provide?
