I agree that in theory the pack should flex a little better. The spring shop owner stated that the spring rate remains unchanged with the isolators. I'll report back in my build after next major wheeling trip if any detectable difference. The main reason i took the pack out was to add the second overload back in. I had declined it to install it from the beginning. Ran it that way for 1.5 years. I'm changing some things about my rig and wanted it in there for the future.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I just bought a set of Dakars and was wondering how the fluid film is holding up for the guys that used it?

I've applied it twice since I used it first. It's been raining a lot where I'm at so I'm sure that's affected it. Some of the squeak is back but not as bad as it was without it

So I have been trying to follow all the solutions for squeaky springs here and other threads for months now after installing the Dakar’s as part of a OME lift and had a squeak immediately. Greased the pads, fluid film, re-torque everything, WD40... you name it!

Anyway, today I had a friend jump on my bed so I could isolate where the noise was coming from. Being the first time under the truck, while the suspension was moving, I realized the spare tire was moving just a little bit. I figured I’d tighten that up first and then get back to those springs. Well guess where my squeak was coming from? I forgot I dropped the spare when I did the lift, and apparently didn’t tighten the spare enough when I was done.

Check your spare to see if it’s loose if you think your suspension is squeaking.

I’m so mad at myself for not finding such a simple solution months ago, but glad it’s over and can enjoy my truck again!

I will be giving prothane super grease a try. I've found the silicone grease I currently use (super lube with ptfe) is getting washed off. My dakar bushings just started squeaking again, same time as last year, after the frequent car washes through the winter.
