Do I need to remove the shackle to take the leafs out? About to throw it on the lift soon to do this. Seems straight forward...any tips advice?

You're swapping the factory springs for the Dakars, right?

You'll need to unbolt the shackle from the frame/mount, the bolt heads on the shackle are inboard. you won't be able to remove the spring from the shackle, because the bolts won't pull out.

The bolt heads must be inboard, they're too long to swap them around, I tried.

The entire swap is pretty straight forward. Just watch your rear brake lines, they're pretty much maxed out with the full droop on the stock suspension.

Do one side at a time if you can, I'm not sure if that's possible with the Dakars. (Perhaps they're too big?) Make sure the axle is supported, including the driveshaft if you remove both springs at once. Otherwise it'll go nose down quick, because the springs/perches keep the axle from rotating.

I did one side at a time, was simple.
