Here is what I propose....I think we should meet somewhere like River Legacy Park in Arlington on a Sunday afternoon. Arlington is smack dab in the middle of the DFW and Sunday's typically are the days most people don't make plans. And if we do it after church time that shouldn't conflict. Plenty of parking out there, beautiful area for cooking out, big field for whatever, bring the kids/dogs whoever. There's also a mountain biking trail out there that's pretty sick so if we do that place I'd likely go for a ride before hand and anyone else who rides would be welcome to go as well.

I don't have a portable grill but I have a huge 12x12ft pop up canopy tent thing that we could bring out there so we could have some shade.

    What do you guys think?

I just also want to note that I'm not trying to "control" anything but rather I'm trying to spawn ideas that I think will work and help get things together. I find that people need a bit of warning before a meet so they can make sure they can save the date. I have meet planning experience I gained from helping setup the IS300 meets. Seriously, those Lexus guys are like herding cats with a garden hose.

    Legacy would be cool.

i might try to make that one...and ride the MTB

FYI: the trail is flat and fast (15 of elevation, maybe) but it is pretty fun.
i think it is more fun avoiding all the new bypasses

I think River Legacy would be great. They have charcoal grills out there and a big covered pavillion. Not sure if they have to be reserved or not but we could look into it. Most Sundays would work for me except for 8/1. We are throwing a huge retirement party for my dad and there are going to be over 100 people at my brothers house.
Kegs(that is plural), briskit on the smoker trailer, live music, and some other great food. I will spend Sunday in recovery mode.
We could also meet at Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake. I have a friend that works out there and could maybe hook us up on reserving a pavillion.

That park is not haunted. There are coyotes, bob cats and even wild hogs out there. There is a road that goes along the west side of the park and I have seen some huge wild hogs along there.

I'll check later on the need for reserving the pavillion area and such. Let's get a date solidified first though. I can't do this weekend and I think next weekend will be to early for us to get our collective crap together.

The weekend of Sunday the 15th is good for me but the next weekend I can't make it because my cousin is getting married in New York. Does the 15th work/not work for anyone else?

I love River Legacy park. Used to live by collins and lamar for a couple years. This weekend wouldn't work very well for me; we've got company staying at our place. After that I think is ok. Will update if I find out different. Anyone have an extra bike? :p
