    enough to go over stuff
Its the law in CA that the dealer sells you the car with the ability to install the plates. Ive purchased two tacos in CA and they drill holes in both. I simply took off the license plate. Painted the screws with dupicolor and put them back in. Not a big deal. You can hardly tell. Im sorry you are on unhappy with the holes but I wouldnt say the dealer damaged your vehical.

Wow California really is a retard state. The people seem to love to elect idiot who hate the people to have even the lightest bit of freedom. Sometimes I think China has more freedom than the Peoples Republic of Commifornia.

Seems the very existence of that paper disproves the members claim that dealers have to mount the tag or lose their license. I figured that was bullsh*t.

    Holy crap California ? damn...

you don't even need plates at all in California...sheesh, OP is doing it WRONG.

In California, you have six months from the time you register your vehicle to switch the dealer's temporary tag for a permanent plate.

So, OP, every 6 months ditch the Taco and get a new one, problem solved. What, don't have the funds ? cry me a river

I've been running without a front plate for years in Tx where it's required, never been pulled over for it. Also I run on the toll ways and have had no issues.

He has a valid reason to complain, you buy the most expensive mid sized truck and they have to take a drill to it just to put your front plates on. They should have made a bracket for the taco when they redesigned it in 2004.

Actually far off, Having grown up and lived in CA, most of the 'Commifornia' hype is just that, a hype. Sure there are some additional regulations or laws, but other states have laws we don't.

A front plate law is not uncommon across the US.

Also, PeeRunner is wrong, You can have tint. Just can't be past 30%. Any shop will tint whatever you want, you just have to keep in mind that law enforcement could issue a fix it ticket.

I live in CA, I carry a firearm every day, I have an AR15, I hunt, I drive my truck in the dirt, and most other things normal americans do.

We're not supposed to talk politics, but on California being restrictive, I've found that it's really a take-from-the-rich attitude here, and very high up on the environmental chain.

A CHP told me I could have whatever tint I wanted on the front, as long as I have a doctor's note. I got the note.

On what normal poeple do.... oh, what's the use... :infantry: :notsure: :burnrubber: :oldglory: :drunk: :rasta: :mudding:

No front plate in a two plate state? Excessive window tint? Choice infractions that could get you pulled over. And it will eventually. And usually on that one time when you really don't want/need to be face to face with the officer. :ohsnap:

Most of mine too. Though I don't have 7+ lights haha.
I don't think the 3rd brake light is a law. Plenty of older vehicles don't have them. Or maybe the law is that it can't be obstructed, maybe that what you meant.. :anonymous:

The only law enforcement officers in California that are expected to bring in a profit are the meter maids.
I hear about Florida and other southern states with all their speed traps, I'll take my chances with my Barcelona Red Taco here in California, thank you!
They do say that red cars are more visible to cops, so bring 'em on!

I gotta get me one of those notes. Surely all of the sunburns from being in the field have done something. lol

But yes, its unfortunate the state feels the need to bring up the weak by weakening the strong. There's dozens of things that could be said about that.

It's a beautiful state, politics; meh, could be worse. Could be D.C.!

After all, CA has some of the best trails and land to explore, someone has to live here to do it!
