Even after owning a home and living there for 10 years I was still a Flatlander. I got pictures of my old house after the flooding in July. All I can say is I'm glad I sold it!

Down here north Jaw-ja, I happily pay $18 bucks for a quart for some kickass Brunswick Stew. Every place in the world has their "stew".

No good deed goes unpunished as they say. Your insurance might consider this as a claim since you let them know it happened. Trust me, my wife's insurance premiums increased by 30% for a similar incident in a parking lot. No damage, no money exchanged hands.....she let them know there might be a claim. I hope your insurance company isn't as greedy as ours was. Good on you for paying the guy anyway! It shows that the world isn't as f'd up as it may seem.

I left 12 years ago so sold the house a while ago. The flooding was this past July, same storms that took out Montpelier. I have a friend who lives in town, she sent me pics of my old place.

A number of years ago I was at a stop sign turning right on a busy road and there was an old guy in a REALLY rusty beat up old pickup truck in front of me at the same stop turning right. As soon as I saw him turn right I looked to my left, saw my opening and started to accelerate and turn right. He then locked on his breaks and I hit his rusted out chrome rear bumper. He had liability only and his insurance company pressed mine and they gave him over 2k for a new rear bumper (which is arguably more than the truck was worth). I never saw any damage to the bumper that didn't exist before I hit it. That dude in the Crown Vic may get a nice pay day.

He definitely could have, at first I thought he was going to want insurance.
We spoke again on the phone later and he said to just forget it.
I’m going to give him the 200$ anyway.
At least he and his wife can get some seafood for it.

    Good karma for all!
I just dropped off 250$ for him.
I appreciate him being a decent person and not want to involve my insurance.
My actual insurance company was not involved so as long as he is cool this should be done.
Gotta say I feel like an ass for it, didn’t sleep well last night.
    Happy Friday the 13th everyone!

You should have had him sign a letter stating no further rights or claims concerning this incident will be considered or addressed. Sorry, just the closest lawyer in me coming out. :)

Him being good about it made me feel bad! Just hoping good people still exist and honor their word.
If I say I’m gonna do something I do it!
We never had to do all this legal crap back in the day I miss those days!!!
