I'll be going there to get some Wildpeaks for the wife's Subaru. And when I need to I'll get my truck tires replaced with them as well.

Got a good deal on a new tire exact specs -
Discount tire mounted it for a nice small fee to boot, yapped with them anyway about Wildpeaks for the wife's Subaru.

Oddly - or should I say surprisingly, they rated the other 3 tires at 6/32 after only 13,500 miles on them and 2 rotations.
I'm pretty surprised they would lose that much tread given 98% is on the streets and are always inflated correctly (34-35) and
    I don't drive like a maniac.

At this rate the OEM tire will be good for 25,000 miles at best. My wife's OEM tires have 42,000 on them and still look good, they're
6 years old tho so I'm gonna replace them on that issue alone.

Official policy is no, they can't patch it. Reality is it happens on a daily basis at those used tire shops you see in the rougher parts of town. Poor folk are laying out cash for a new tire. I'm pretty sure I have never seen a tire fail that was the result of a repair, but you are taking a risk anytime you repair a tire.
