It depends on the road, and the vehicle I'm meeting. I have no lift and my lights are aligned properly, but on certain roads I get it a lot. Curvy, hilly rural back roads cause the lights from any truck to hit small cars from unusual angles. I never get flashed by other trucks and never on straight level roads.

When I do I just hit the dimmer switch quickly and flash em back. Not trying to be a jerk, but if I've made a mistake and left my brights on then I go to dim. If they were already on dim the fraction of a second the brights are on lets them know I didn't have them on bright.

Some guys (idiots) think it's funny to blind others or that it makes them tough guys when they flip people off for pointing out that their lights are aimed incorrectly...that's a good way to get a beating in some parts of the country...and rightly so.

I've come to the conclusion our trucks, especially the 2012-2015 models, have a lot of spill into the oncoming lane even when properly aimed. It's even worse when people are driving around with fog lights on and not dimming them(which is required in Oregon).

Cops should do this too for those who are inconsiderate, they endanger the lives other motorists
If they flashed, it means there is something wrong.

If your headlights are using halogen bulbs and correctly aimed you should not get flashed. If you've been flashed multiple times, oncoming drivers are clearly trying to tell you something. My lights are 2x brighter than stock, but done correctly and correctly aimed and I have never been flashed.

I'm not sure what's more annoying. Inconsiderate pricks with improperly aimed headlights or incompetent pricks with improperly aimed headlights...or incompetent pricks with only ONE improperly aimed headlights. o_O

I have never understood the idea of driving with misadjusted headlights or led fogs, blinding the person coming at you at 60mph in a 4000lbs death machine.

They are more likely to hit you then go off the side of the road.

It really grinds my gears cause driving a lifted/modded truck means to me that I am proud of my mchanic skills. Then to be "unable" to adjust your headlights just lets me know that you probably dont even know how to change your own oil, and should just be driving a camry.

Isn't driving with maladjusted headlights, technically speaking, just as illegal as speeding? Therefore isn't bragging about it (and consequently flashing your brights back at oncoming traffic) against the CoC? @JimBeam @MTgirl can we get a ruling?

You know... One guy blinded the ever-loving hell out of me with his HID bulbs in reflector housings one time. I hit him with the power of the sun known as the four off road grill lights I had at the time. He got angry enough to pull a u-turn and chase me to an intersection before passing me and pulling across the road blocking my path. I only wish I had a dash camera at the time to catch the look on his face when my drivers side door opened and a Glock 19 was aimed directly center mass when he proceeded toward my vehicle yelling and screaming like a meth-fueled idiot. I'm not sure I have ever seen someone get back in their vehicle and burn off quicker than that guy.

Think twice about flashing them back with your highlights. I've done it my whole life but it caught up with me a few weeks ago. Once I flashed them back, the popo lights came on and he pulled me over. Gave me a lecture about how I could temporarily blind someone. Now I turn them off and back on.

FYI, took me like 15 min to re-aim my headlights last night. literally super easy. don't be a dick, if youre blinding people its unsafe.

With mine I honestly don't know why they are flashing me. I took it to work last night and did the test against a wall and backed up and they look fine. Then I parked it on one side of the parking lot and got in my coworkers car. Then went to the other side about 200 yards away and drove up to my truck. We both were not bothered by the lights so we parked his car next to my truck and turned his brights on for a comparison. His brights were a lot brighter than my low beams.

Probably a good thing neither of you had a dashcam to catch you committing a felony. Luckily it didn't escalate any farther so you didn't have to go to prison.
