Yeah sorry about that, didn’t mean to brag. I hope you get it fixed and that insurance takes care of it for you.

I don’t have any advice for you that isn’t already given, so I’m gonna ask you a question. Where’d you get that sweet Toyota badge on the bottom right side of your bed?

If you were closer to my location I’d sell you my steel bumper to replace your damaged one. Need to find a buyer as I just switched to a 4Runner.

I’m in Lawrence, KS. Will post it on buy sell trade later today, have a friend coming to help take it off tonight. So I’ll post pictures of it on and off the truck. It’s an RCI metalworks rear bumper, powder coated black and was only placed on my truck back in February

All is good, just trying to decide best repair route, spend a little now and hope it doesnt happen again or spend a lot now and hope whatever I hit next time takes all the damage..... as long as the next thing I hit isnt something I own.

    Follow up

All back together and "good" as new. The cost for all including parts, pushpins, trim and a single replacement bumpershell was half the cost for a real bumper and a real punch to the nutsack for a bunch of plastic. :frusty:

If I do it again it will definitely be a steel replacement.

3 mph bump into a brick wall..... jesus.

Go with Rock Auto in the future, the "near OEM" replacement plastic parts have been 100% reliable in fit and finish for me.

That entire corner can be replaced for ~ $100 and an hour of your DIY time.

I've used RockAuto in the past but somebody had mentioned here that their replacement pieces shatter when impacted that's why I decided to go with OEM this time.

I also replaced the top step assembly because it had some cracked bits and some broken tabs that secure it to the metal support.

    Top step $200
Plastic end piece under the end cap $200
    Unpainted end cap $60
    Replacement bumpershell $58
    Pins and clips $10

That was an hour of my time installing.

If you find where to get replacements of these let us know, I am on the lookout for black or red ones to replace my chrome bumper ends.

I did the same thing to mine. The costs to replace the bumper corner piece was around $800 cdn. This included painting to match as the bumper only comes unpainted. If I had to do it all over again, I would have just sprung for the steel bumper full replacement.

The unpainted OEM are smooth flat black unpainted plastic and usually run about $100, the chrome ends run $160.

I got an unpainted end cap, bumpershell over that.

    The broken one was tossed.

I like the TPO finish of the bumpershellz.

Too bad you already took care of this or I'd have given you mine dirt cheap. Some guy hit me and paid for a brand new high-clearance double swinger and then some but the caps might be workable.
