Do not fold. My guess is you'd regret it at some point. I get a truck through work, get to pick it out myself within an certain budget. At one trade in the dealership made me an absurd offer to get rid of a color/package they couldn't move. It was probably a nicer truck via amenities than I could get elsewhere, but I didn't love the color (it was also white, though not a Tacoma...the white Tacoma is a better looking truck than this was). At first I was happy with it. Hell, who wouldn't be, it's a new truck. But it didn't take 6 months for me to wish that I had kept looking. I just didn't like the color enough. If you've waited this long, get what you want. This isn't about what color is better. It's about what YOU want.

White is the best Tacoma color IMO. I LOVE my white truck

But as someone pointed out, people assume a white Tacoma is a fleet truck. But different wheels, and personal touches change the whole look of the truck.

I've owned several white vehicles over the years and they are by far my favorite. A friend of mine has a grey Tacoma, and you can literally see from 20 feet away EVERY stone chip in the front of it. Then he bought some of that color matched chip cover, and now it looks like a girl trying to cover acne with make up.

LOL at everyone thinking that he'll get money off on this order. Please. The dealership will throw in some mats or something or tell you to go pound sand. I went through an EXTREMELY similar situation with my truck and you know what I was able to get out of it? My downpayment back and then I switched dealers.

Think about it, man. These are very desireable trucks. VERY desireable trucks. Explain to me how or why the dealership would give him a grand back or put on a freakin' supercharger on the truck when they can just say "damn, sorry bro" and sell it the next week to someone else for the same price they agreed to sell to him. Or even more.

If they had to special order, that tells me that they didn't want to have something like that on the lot. The trucks that most people want are sr5 dcsb trucks with the v6 and the auto. The combo that the op requested is not a very desirable one.

All that aside, the fact that they fucked up and didn't do what the customer wanted entitles him to be upset and demand compensation. It would be stupid NOT to ask for money in my opinion.

It also is painted in a single stage paint and has no clear coat over it. Just primer then white. The chances of it getting trashed quicker then other colors using a clear coat on them is higher.

Uhhh, what? No, that means that they didn't have that on the lot and there wasn't one nearby. I special ordered my truck; do you think that the blue ribbon metallic, acces cab, V6, auto, TRD sport isn't desirable?

I agree it would be stupid not to ask for some sort of compensation. But I'm also saying, be prepared for the dealer to tell you to go pound sand because why the hell would they give him a grand or more (really? a freakin' supercharger?) when they can very easily sell the truck to someone else. And yes, that's an extremely desireable combination for anyone who needs work truck. Like a small business.

All this white stuff is just racist (just going with current themes everywhere for every reason)........What color is mine? It is no color at all, it is WHITE! White is a neutral like black and gray, it is not an actual color. See number 5 on the link............

Sorry, just wanted to participate. And since someone brought up the white/racist thing I thought I'd bring a little balance to the thread. A little ebony/ivory, oreo cookie...

When I went in I wanted either white or gray. They were out of stock on white at the time, and had a MGM with everything I wanted...so it made my choice easy.

These trucks look great in both colors, thats undeniable. That being said, IF you do fold, it should come at a pretty decent discount since they got the color wrong. If I had ordered my truck in one color and got another, I would expect them to re-order or take thousands off.

The dealer will either tell you that they will try for a dealer trade or you can take what they have available or they will refund your deposit. Don't expect any freebees. If you plan to keep the truck for a long time, white might just be the best color for you. It is relatively easy to keep "lookin' good". The single stage white paint is not a problem. You simply have to wax the truck a couple of times a year.

I wanted white too but they didn't have a Limited anywhere close. Ended up with MGM but REALLY wish I had white.

Stand your ground with the dealer! They have to either provide you what they agreed to... or they'll need to compensate you for not holding up their end of the bargain. If you decide that you're willing to accept the White truck, put them in the position of having to "convince" you with add-on's or a discount on the purchase price.

image.jpg Lol. I had a deposit on a grey TRD Sport and ended up getting this. I wasn't crazy about the grey but usually like darker colors. I went through the color thread posts and when I saw photos of the white I looked up at me wife and said 'white, it's going to be white'. I don't regret it all all. I love the white.
