I think it’s less about the car and more about who or what is driving it. I mean there’s a dummy orbiting the sun in a Tesla with the funking widows rolled down. Spend a couple of weeks doing a Silicon Valley commute and you'll quickly notice that Honda's doesn’t make the top ten in collisions ….its the dummy.

I’ll chime in here. Had my ‘21 TRD Pro for about a year. Came up on a green light, proceeded through at a gentle speed, across 4 lanes and then out of the corner of my eye I see lights, I floored it and they caught me square on the rear axle. The car happened to be a red Honda. No judgment here, but coincidental. Fortunately no damage to the frame, the pin the holds the leaf springs to the brunt of the hit. Damage was still north of $10k. Been driving nice since then, even tire wear all around. I got lucky, if that car hit broadside under cab it would have been a much different story.

Correction: the pin that holds the leaf springs in place on the axle took the brunt of the impact.:anonymous:

Might be bad to say but I hope so. Still got to see about frame, bumper is bolted directly to it. Repaired the front end a week before from hitting a deer which included headlights, grille, hood, etc. Already had a good amount in mods. There's this 2015 1794 Tundra (big ass vacuum) I would snag if they did and build it. This hasn't been my favorite vehicle to own. Blown belts, Replaced Idler Pulleys, Blown Power Steering Pump, Braking is odd in this truck cause of the drums, Transmission Gear Hunting is unpredictable, would be happier with something older with a better throttle response.
2nd Gen Tacoma isn't out of the picture either though cause small interior is comfy.

    Distracted driver?
I lived in Oxford for 10 years. Lots of 'children' driving new cars that daddy bought them.

    Hope all are ok.

Oh - if you need bodywork - Southland Auto off of W. Oxford loop.
Damn good work and damn good people over there.

Ask for Cornbread ( if he's still there ) tell him Big-Dog sent you.

My experience with this is, if it’s not your fault the other guys insurance company should make your truck “whole” again including mods…if it’s your fault and you don’t have additional coverage, like others have said you’re on your own. As far as post repair vehicle value, you’re pretty much sunk. It will show front and rear collision most likely and if it was towed, that will show and any dealership will see that and immediately offer way less.

Depending on your state and if you have different insurance companies, you can go for diminished value on your truck post repair. I would surely pursue this avenue as you’re going to lose when it comes time to get rid of your vehicle.

I was hit by a wheel and tire off of a trailer due to the driver putting the lugs on hand tight and forgetting to put a wrench on them. $12k in repairs and the truck was worth about $20k less when I traded it in.

    Sorry you’re through this!

Haaaaa.... small world but I'd hate to paint it.

Years ago I used to go motorcycle riding with those guys -
    We'd always have a group 6-10 guys out for a ride -

It was a nice place to live when we were there - but the town needs another grocery store or 2 or 3.

Apparently, you guys haven't been around Audi drivers. Biggest dickheads on the road followed closely by KIA drivers. My ex wife drives a KIA.

Update: I still have not heard from progressive two weeks later, no rental, no word on fixing anything. Anyone know anything I could do? MS has a 50 day limit on insurance settlements…
