Awesome, thanks! It so happens that I'm passing through twice tomorrow...but both times at 30,000'.

    :plane:

Please hold on to them for me and I'll grab them next time I drive.

Definitely no issues out of the rear setup. Limiting factor is the leaf pack instead of the shocks since I went with the longer ones. The hydraulic air bumps take some getting use to because there's no rubber to absorb the strike so they make a loud knock/clack.

No, they're custom built. Icon does have a stock number for them though because they're built enough for the Dakar pack.

Their off the shelf rears would've worked fine according to Metal Tech (who I purchased through) with no issues...but I wanted the peace of mind that the longer shocks gave me.

Shoot. That's what I'm stuck on now. I've got the off the shelf remote reservoir Icons with Icon AAL and the rear sags too much. Need to beef it up a bit but really don't want to buy new shocks as these ones have been installed for two months.

You should be ok. I spoke to Metal Tech, who sells both Icon and OME, about this very concern. They told me the off the shelf Icon shocks are the same length as the OME shocks that would be paired with the Dakar pack.

On the first page of this thread I have a pic of both shocks side by side.

You're right. I reached out to Icon to ask about use of the off the shelf shocks with the Dakar pack and they quickly recommended against it. Said I should really have custom shocks made for that spring. So I asked them what to do and they said to contact OME for the measurements they recommend for that leaf pack. ARB responded and gave me almost the identical measurements to the Icon off the shelf shock. Seems odd.

What were the measurements that you made your shock around?

Yeah...when I spoke to Icon, the guy told me the same thing and eluded to the fact that their off the shelf shocks were built for and tuned to their AAL. Anything more than that, they'd rely on somebody else telling them the build specs (OME for example).

I never measured because I trusted Metal Tech based on my experience with them from when I owned the FJ; however, I did do a bunch of research and came across the Icon stock number they use for the longer shocks I have. I only went with the longer ones because I was able to selll my AAL and OTS shocks for what I had into them (they never got installed on my truck).

I'll see if I can find the stock number for you so you can look into them...

Nice, thanks. I'll have to give it some thought as what to do. Those mentioned shocks have almost 2 inch more when extended. I'd just rock the current ones if I wasn't so damn anxious about over extending, ruining, and then not being able to use/sell them.

@Acerwin SEO is having a 20% off Black Friday sale right now on ARB, OME, and Safari. Now is the time to get that twin compressor...it's a better deal than what I got on mine (18%).

@TacoFMS I'll be passing through this Saturday and again the following Saturday or Sunday.

If you're not going anywhere for Thanksgiving and will be in the area, let me know if either works for you to grab those leafs.

    Thanks bud!
