    So, I have a 2000 Jeep TJ.

Well looks like I broke both shafts at the splines. The carrier doesn't rotate and I can't get the ends out. No idea what to do to get this back to operational.IMG_20200320_160517.jpg IMG_20200320_163136.jpg

Impressive. Did the gears lock up? I have never seen both shafts snap at the splines like that. I had a D44 rear that had a detroit locker that didn't release while turning and exploded in my driveway at the carrier. I just pulled the axle out, scrapped it, and stated fresh with a 8.8 build.

Sometimes you can put one side of the axle on the ground and try smacking the carrier with a BFDB (big fucking dead blow) and hopefully the axle shaft comes out with gravity. Put your carrier bearing caps back on before you do.

Might be screwed. That gear pattern looks pretty bad in conjunction to the most likely destroyed locker/carrier...Dana 30 axles are cheap, but not in AK. If you need to salvage the housing, a cutting torch works...order new gears (which you need anyway), carrier, locker, inner shafts.

Well, I contacted the installer that did the gears. He wants to take a look at it since ive only had them installed for a year. He believes that the bearing seized up, and is not sure why especially since i check the fluid monthly and have never had to add any...

In the mean time im picking up a HP30 for free! So ill be looking at it tomorrow, i know for a fact it will need to be re-geared, but cant beat a free axle setup.

Yeah, i was going to attempt to stand the axle up and tap and see if it will fall out. Gotta try to find time with this crap work schedule. Also, people have advised to get a pipe wrench on the yoke and try to spin it in reverse and that might dislodge pieces that are holding it up.

Well I finally have some updates. Seems like I'm working more with all this COVID-19 going on.... Between the home remodel and work I have been sneaking in some much needed Jeep time. The pinion bearing was seized in the low pinion dana 30.... I got that out of the way and ill be cutting into it first thing in the morning! Tried out the rust-oleum hammered paint, so far i'm very pleased with it! :oldglory::cheers:IMG_20200416_121428.jpg IMG_20200414_192145.jpg IMG_20200414_192138.jpg IMG_20200414_192104.jpg IMG_20200414_192051.jpg IMG_20200414_192020.jpg
