None! I have a 2018. I also bought the wireless CarPlay dongle that works great. Make sure you get the GPS adapter from the OP.

 

Probably be pulling the trigger soon. I've just been waiting for a reasonably priced solution. Seems the bigger names in the aftermarket are missing the mark. My Pioneer is tolerable, but aggravating I'm so many ways.

It is for the wrong year(s) (Gen 2 and i have a gen 3) and its over $100 more

 

ha yah that makes sense was curious why one was more than the other. Also has 2 color codes and no idea what that color codes mean and they do not state it. go figure.

 

There is a MAX 5 (which is what I got) and a MAX 6. The max 6 has a larger ROM (64 vs 32 GB) - I've watched some videos on the MAX 5, and since it has been confirmed to work, I felt better buying it, especially since its a hundred buckaroos less. I did consider going with the 10" screen, but again, was a couple of hundred bucks more. I sometimes tend to get carried away with upgrades like this and will constantly escalate to a little bit more expensive, but I am trying to break that habit!

 

yah I am the same way. Does not look like a 10" option for the 2nd gen but thats fine. 9" is way bigger than anything I have now. on the Max6 there are 2 colors so its WTF is that option.

 

Do you need a metra harness or does it plug and play for steering controls? Been following and seems like it does but the video on site mentioned the metra harness.

 

the color options aren't really color options, seems like aliexpress's way of having different options. Usually its with Canbus, without Canbus. I don't know what i means with respect to a MAX 6 though.

I found they have the same product listed several times, often with different pictures. You can't really trust the Dasaita Store reps to help out much, they can point you in the sort of right direction, but seem to make mistakes. They called me "dear" a lot, which i quite liked.

 

Figured it out. The options are JBL or non JBL. Go figure.

 

Anyone bought from Ebay and upgrade to wireless airplay? Seems easy on their site and aliexpress but did not see the option on ebay which seems you can get a better deal there.

Ordered one off Aliexpress. Hopefully chose the right one. basically was JBL or non JBL version.

 

Is there anyone using this with an android phone? Does the HU support notifying and reading incoming text messages out of the box? Or do you need to install an app for that? It is perhaps the only thing Entune did well.

 

I used the plans that benkitesurfs shared, and got them printed locally. I have a Gen 3 though, but i suspect they would work for a gen 2 as well.

 

Aliexpress notified me last night that I can't get a Max 5 with the car play dongle built in. They only do that for the Max 6. So I reordered without the dongle. I am not exactly sure I need it anyways.

 

gotcha. i have not seen that post yet. quick link? We should get that added to the 1st post. It would be somewhat different but could be the same depending which HU. I have a 3rd gen Nav Unit I was going to try and retrofit.

 

how long did it take you to receive after order? I have had fairly good delivery times from Aliexpress in the past but its overseas so its always a gamble.
