I'll let you know when I get it. Its shipping with DHL so I suspect it will take a week or two. I am anxious about potential custom fees.

In the past I never ran into any custom feeds with AliExpress. Seemed to slip by pretty easy. Says mine should be here around early October but I am sure that is wishful thinking.

I havent had any customs from AliExpress either, but I've never ordered anything over 50$ before.

I have been fucked by DHL in the past. They're the worst.

Trrying to understand how these built-in android systems work -

So for "wireless android auto", since Android is built in to the HU, you just connect to the hotspot on your phone for data? I don't want to get an extra sim card for this, so it would be hotspot for me.

And for these HUs having android, you're logging into your google account directly on the units right? I'm hoping that's....safe.

My only wishlist for these is a higher res screen. There's some 1280x720 units, but not for the Tacoma yet.

Not sure it would be unsafe unless you believe these HU's would have some spy software lol. Not different than login into your google account into a secondary cellphone.

The screen looks fine even though is not higher res. The size of the screen and the distance you will be sitting from it makes it look very sharp.

With relatively very affordable HU's from china that expect you to put your google account info on it, I wouldn't be surprised :p

For the price it's tempting to get one now then swap it out for a 720p in a year or 2.

I currently have the Halo9, but this being the same size screen that can fit inside the dash makes it a bonus. But my main reason for switching is the wireless ability and everyone telling me my hands free phone (BT with HU phone or plugged in with AA) has a horrific echo. It's also higher res than the Halo9.

I ordered through Amazon on Sunday and mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Crazy fast shipping from Guangzhou. Now I have to wait for the GPS adapter to get here from Virginia.

Ended up with the PX5. The minor speed advantage of the PX6 didn't seem worth the dev support lag.

Dev lag? Isn't that just dependent on the android version not the chip running it?

It seems like there is a bit of a difference in the rom versions between the chips.

In a year or two I wouldn't be surprised if they already had 1080p screens and much more advanced processors, however I can guarantee that the jump from this to 720p is not gonna be as noticeable due to reasons stated above.

I don't have the Daisaita but have the Joying, which is better imo, but the resolution is the same. You will understand once you see it in person.

What I see from the Joying I like is the knob.

Going to 8.1 and older chip vs 9.0 with px6 seems to be a sizeable difference tho seen in this video.

The unit I got is still loaded with 9.0. I'm curious about the real difference between PX5 9.0 vs PX6 9.0. That video poster even admits 9.0 runs faster than 8.1 on PX5 and would be a fairer comparison.

Volume knob, GPS Button which also quick toggles your last used app, always keeps my odometer in miles, Better/newer/faster processor from what I have seen in comments comparing PX5 vs SC9853i.

Haven't tested it myself but apparently it has native Carplay support and you can get Android Auto through a $5 app

2 year warranty and $100 cheaper apparently

Furthermore, it's the one that has the most support on XDA developers, we have root for it and also an app that adds a whole bunch of useful tools like changing ringtone, changing/increasing the dpi(Which allows to use google assistant voice calling), etc

I initially had a variant of the Dasaita(Thread by Delonix) but had crashing issues often, and wouldn't allow me to even edit the ugly default home screen icons, just add more to another screen.

I love the clean look of the dasaita but a physical volume knob is always useful, those touch volume buttons are atrocious lol

I think maybe this is the app for $5 to run android auto without the normal connection checks.

Does anyone have a wireless hotspot setup working with android auto who can tell me if it's seamless? Like get in the car, everything auto connects etc. I just want to get in the car and everything just works, no manually connecting to a wifi or cable etc.
