Did the update take long? I tried this morning but the download failed first try then stalled at 100% downloading pop up on last try, could have been executing the file then but I powered it down. I’ll try again on a better WiFi soon

Honestly I started the download and went about doing other things. Came back 10-15 minutes later and it was updated. No failures though.

I have my OBDLink Mx connected to my head unit and it works good. I also have the generic one they sell and it works also.

Well now it’s giving an error of an abnormal connection when I try to update the box via autokit app, see photo. I did update the autokit app itself so I’ll see on my commute tomorrow if that helps with the stuttering audio which seems super random now, it’ll do it all the time then I unplug the dongle reinsert it and all is well. Second pic shows the versions of autokit app and dongle version dates, lmk if the dongle firmware date is old

I just tried to do this on mine tonight and had the same results as you, "abnormal connection"

With the stuttering audio and no Spotify integration on Waze through CarPlay I've pretty much decided to ditch it and just run Android full time.

I'm running the MalaySK ROM and it's working really smoothly.

Hmm interesting can you elaborate on this? Is it like CarPlay? I don’t have hotspot data on my current plan so that’s what CarPlay worked so well for me as it used my phones data. I like having the map and also song info/album art on the main screen

Basically, Waze (and Google Maps now) have Spotify integration through the full apps (but not the CarPlay app). While you are viewing your navigation there is a popup in the app for Spotify control.

Like this, but imagine it on the larger, landscape Dasaita screen.

Using Android loaded on the Dasaita gives you the ability to load any Android app from the Play Store instead of what is only available through CarPlay.

You have to tether your phone with Wifi. The downside is that iPhone (for battery consumption reasons) shuts off personal hotspot after a short time of inactivity/connectivity, so you have to manually toggle it on your phone each time you start. For this reason I'm going to a standalone hotspot in the truck.

Yeah the Box Version I installed was from July 2019, and it flat out says "iOS 13 stutter fix" in the release notes. I did not get "abnormal connection", but I will say that I have a hell of a time keeping a wifi connection in the driveway, for updates and/or app installs. I've chalked it up to having a mesh network, which some wifi chips have problems with.

I even drive the truck to the side of the house within 20’ of the damn gateway and still got this error, then connected to my neighbors WiFi and still same error. Anyway to connect the dongle to a laptop to update the firmware?

I got a px6 Dasaita unit. It comes with the gps module. It does not hook up to rear camera out of the box so you will need another part. Last night it was posted. Seceine has one that should work. Also if you want to retain the factory usb there is an adapter.

The unit is soo light not sure you even need the mounts but have not tried that yet.

Also you can check for the wireless car play to be built in. You can do it after too as well form what I’ve read.

Not yet. Need to look. Obd fusion wants to connect to my phone instead of the unit plugged in. Need to try it again.

They just install the slink app and code. Just got mine and had them do that. Do not believe there is any extra chip

Got it. I can’t recall if it was you or another person who said they had the zlink but no Wireless CarPlay and emailed them to get the code to unlock it.

yeah I have zlink it was only wired when I got the unit. I emailed them and purchased the authorization code to activate wireless CarPlay. I am on IOS13 and it works great.

It integrates better with android also.
When using wireless CarPlay it turns off the regular bluetooth app so you don't have CarPlay and bluetooth app picking up the same call. It also turns off wireless and activates the hotspot when it connects to your phone. All my steering wheel buttons work also Siri and home button.
