This is more of a gripe than anything, but has anyone using the CarPlay dongle has a situation where you launch Autokit, play music via Apple Music app, and then try to switch to the Android Radio app, only to have it fail to launch/play, and then CarPlay music starts again? I solve it by killing the CarPlay connection (usually by turning off Wifi or BT), and Radio works again, but it's annoying.

I'd just like to confirm that you can control the anytime cameras (hooked into the Dasaita) via steering controls. If I had to fool with the touchscreen, I don't think it would be worth it for me. Thanks!

ill know soon enough, just waiting on a part but I do not see why not. The connection are the same once they get to the harness so it should still trigger the HU. I have the Car Solution setup for the front and as you noted want to use the steering wheel to activate it rather than HU.

Yes, I had bad problems trying to use CarPlay and then do anything outside of the AutoKit app. This was the main reason why I have stopped using CarPlay. The native Android apps are leaps and bounds ahead of the hobbled CarPlay app versions anyway.

I had this problem too you need to pause CarPlay and then you can play the radio. This only happens with autokit. Zlink does not have this issue.

Do you have the anytime backup camera harness from?
    https://www.anytimebackupcamera.com/products/anytime-backup-and-front-camera
I have mine connected to my etune with the optional 3 way switch. I'd like to keep the same setup. I have a 2019 Tacoma if that matters

It wasn't just with audio. Even trying to exit the AutoKit app and use something else it would constantly bombard me with popups asking to launch the AutoKit app until I unplugged the dongle.

My solution to this was simply to use my old S8 phone hard-wired in my glove box. its not perfect, but it was free, and i don't need to keep connecting it every time i get in.

When i upgraded my phone last year i just got a new phone number for the old phone and permanently keep it in the tacoma. added benefit is that when someone reaches me on the other number, they automatically know i'm in my truck and on speaker. essentially, my tacoma has its own cell number.

i also needed a device that supports 256gb (really, i need a TB, but) cards for my 40,000 music inventory. s8 does that; the tacoma usb does not support 256.

Got mine installed. Loving it except for one thing.

My phone auto turns on its hotspot when I connect to the HU Bluetooth, but the HU won't connect automatically unless I open up the list of WiFi networks on the HU, and then it connects.

Anyone know how to fix that?

    HU has the 08/28 patch.

Also, what canbus protocol do you use?

Nope. It's why I use a dedicated hotspot.

One of the Rav4 ones. Sorry, I can't remember which one exactly.

Seems like something easily updated with a patch. Or maybe I can try tasker or something similar on the HU.

It's a problem with the phone OS, not the HU.

Today it actually connected each time, but it ranged from 10 seconds to around 2 minutes. My phone turned on the hotspot immediately each time.

I'll experiment with automation/tasker apps on the HU to force a connection reliably when it detects the phone connecting on BT.

It’s mixed for me. It connects but disconnects too. Car play takes forever to connect if it does.
