That's a steal. I paid $375 + $30 for canbus and $30 for the canbus on ebay and thought I was getting a good deal.

 

Has anyone installed this unit in an SR5 model? I'm trying to follow the thread but its confusing and I was curious if anyone had done this yet. Thank you.

Yeah, very much so. Install was annoying only because of a complete lack of instructions, but it’s a huge improvement over the stock head unit.

 

Yea man, you just need a Canbus which they provide/sell. Think of it as an adapter to keep your OEM controls. Plug old factory connections into the Canbus, Canbus into new android HU. Done deal.

Edit: you’ll need the bigger radio bezel/trim piece to hold the larger screen. That was honestly the hardest part about this for me. They’re expensive and hard to find.

 

Awesome, I’m going to return my NV auto CarPlay add on and buy this system. The NV unit wasn’t what I expected, slow and resolution quality was poor. Thanks for replying and contributing to this thread

Would you happen to have the part number for it?

 

I bought @Taco_Coma old unit & trim piece. He ended up going in a different direction. I was going to abandon this project all together because I couldn’t find a decently priced trim piece. I luckily stumbled across his listing for sale & he was offering both in a package deal. The part number you need is 55405-04130-C5 but something changes in that # based on the color of the outer trim. At least that’s what my research turned up, good luck!

 

does wire harness canbus support JBL system. I can’t find it on alixpress. Or will I have to buy a JBL wireharness?
