Finally got the Metra brackets today so I wired everything in. It was pretty straight forward, only issue seems like the Metra brackets have it too forward to close the trim piece, I though Scoshe was the only one that needed the brackets cut. blah

Is there a way to have Car Play show the text messages instead of having Siri reading it you?

The whole purpose of CarPlay is to be a multimedia tool that helps keep your eyes on the road, so no displaying text messages. That's the beauty of dictation.

I would like to know an answer to this too. I always have to bump the volume up +4 when making calls or trying to hear Siri.

Does anyone’s have an issue with steering wheel call button with this unit? Mine doesn’t dial out when using the button. I tried multiple time reprogramming the button to phone call but no success.

my wife’s note8 doesn’t work with this unit well either, she has to call on her phone first So it can work through the unit.
I like the wireless CarPlay and large clear display on this unit, but all the bugs are getting annoying. I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on the Sony or Alpine unit and selling this.

Any one have any luck getting Android Auto to work wirelessly? I downloaded the APK and installed it on the unit after it wouldn't let me through the playstore. I can get it to play music and navigate over hotspot, but it won't let me make calls or text.

I don't think it functions on this.

Yeah, think I'll just have to settle for wired, but now need to upgrade the USB port so my phone can still quick charge

So Ive installed it, the sound is great. I've scoped every page of this post a few times, I really dont want to comb through it for these specifics.

    1. I got the Metra brackets but seemingly it sticks out and I cant get the surrounding trim on it. Am I doing something wrong? As I know a few where able to install it without issue. May just opt for the custom 3D prints at this point.

    2. I got the steering wheel controls via 126 code and selecting RAV4 only issue seems to be the replay/skip buttons are mixed up, how do I fix that?

    3. Can I still use the OEM USB? I seemingly didnt hook it up but I didnt a way to connect it with the USB connector supplied.

    4. I got no reverse cam when reversing. The two yellow RCA cables seemed to be the same Im assuming maybe just need to swap them around? Havent gotten around to bothering with it.

    5. How do I go about update PX6 and installing Carplay?

Thanks in advance hopefully its the last time I bug about the Dasaita

    1. I was able to use the original brackets by drilling some new holes and grinding the locator pins off. Holes were located by transferring positions with blue painter's tape.
    3. Mine came with a harness to use the OEM USB.
    4. OEM reverse cam was plug and play so it's probably connected to the wrong connector.
    5. The built in chip was an option that came from Dasaita. I'm not sure that's something you can do yourself. If you can't, the USB dongle might be your only option.

I did the update and so far no reboots and it's also connecting pretty reliably to my phone's hotspot now.

Good to know. My thumb drive is still sitting in the cupholder. About how much time does it take?

It was less than 5 minutes for me

I just put the update.zip on the sd card, stuck it in and it autodetected it and asked if I wanted to update. After the update, I just removed the SD card and deleted the update.zip. Maybe with a file explorer app you can delete it from the unit itself.
