I probably am mistaken and I may need to reread, but I thought that the only people that have gotten the rear cam to work had it previously displayed in the HU and not the mirror.

No several of the guys had mirror units and kept both mirror and HU or just moved to HU, I'm going try to finish that up on Sat. myself..

    Excellent, thanks!

Any ideas for keeping exterior temp? I will be removing my rear view mirror and would love a way to still have an exterior temp readout.

    Morning Jeremy @Espinoza700 ,

I don't think I've seen anyone say anything about that, most are keeping their mirror.. :) I know I am, that and the compass and homelink on mine.. Don't know how I ever survived with out the homelink.. No remote hanging from my visor.. :)

@theolee that is probably the best option if it can’t be displayed in the HU. A bit spendy though...

Tell me about! I've wanted one for a while now. My truck is pre wired for it. The parts department at Toyota didn't believe me till I showed them. They couldn't find the part for my year anyway. They do pop up on eBay every once and a while. I recommend keeping an eye out, you might get lucky

    Edit:
You could also get a smart rearview mirror?

So my first stereo, from Seicane, on Amazon was garbage. It worked but had corrupted software and would not update or connect anything to bluetooth and overall junk. I ended up buying a Dasaita universal 2 din unit on Amazon.

This one is fantastic. It works flawlessly, looks amazing, has a rotating adjustable screen and if you contact Iris, like on ebay but instead through Amazon, you can get a plug and play harness for your truck. It comes with carplay and android auto built in along with free wireless carplay even though its not advertised as having it. Wireless carplay just auto connects through bluetooth and fairly quick. ObdII connects religiously to the fusion app and with the extra options purchased for the app you can obviously monitor tranny temps and such. Really great option if your looking for something a bit different and no waiting for overseas shipping, its an Amazon prime item 2 days delivery. It’s literally like having a tablet in your truck.96AAC478-20DF-4CAA-A0C7-B37C63C6E625.jpg

Not sure what more for pics you want but here are some starting with what it looks like without the screen. Typical universal 2din stereo until the screen goes on.

I've asked Iris and over on the XDA, something wrong with mine I guess, GMail works good, Maps, Chrome, Play Store, but when I try to log into Calendar, or Contacts with my Google account it won't let me..

Yea, I used to frequent that XDA site years ago with tablets I had, haven't been on there, sometimes the threads run amuck and they get confusing.. I'll keep trying to find the answer, thanks..

I installed my Dasaita 9” today and everything went well. I got mine from Amazon (listed for the 2.5 gen) and didn’t have much of a problem with the fitment. I did have to cut a small part of the mount and drill two holes to get the clock/hazards mounted properly, but it fits nice now. i also had to trim a bit off the bottom of the surround to fit the climate control back in place.

I moved the backup cam from the rear view using the method in the video in an earlier post. I had to make one change though, because I am removing my rear view mirror. I had to run a wire from the reverse trigger into the “back” wire on the head unit to let it know when to display the image. Couldn’t be happier with the results!

I have a 2015 and the only thing I can't get to work is the reverse cam. It switches to the screen when I put it in reverse but no image. I have the canbus wiring harness. Any of you guys have a late model gen 2 that got the rev cam to work? First post on TW btw.

Update: I got it working, I had messed around with the settings and somehow disabled it. All good now.
