Glad I don't have your commute. Man, I would have to make sure I've had my two cups of coffee (and the auto morning dump instituted by such coffee) before I even thought about leaving the house.

I've been considering dash cams for the both of us for some time. This thread underscores that need. And it's entertaining. lol

So I'm sitting here watching crash videos and the more I watch them the
more I want to punch something, lol. I need to start using my dash cams ALL THE TIME !!!

And then there is the Heavy equipment accidents. Majority of them are outside the U.S.
You can tell there is no OSHA or safety regulations or very few. If the U.S.
lacked them would probably see the a lot of the same.

I was on Hwy 89 towards susanville and this Outback driver in front of me flipped out and slammed on their brakes and swerved into my vehicle after passing some disabled vehicle on the shoulder. Originally i thought she was stopping to help, until my passengers said she was flipping me off. I wasnt tailgating so i was very confused. But she continued to flip me off solid for the next 15 miles until i exited the highway. Meanwhile trying to pit me going 70MPH. I might need to get a second camera for the back of my vehicle because it wasnt caught on the front cam. Then when she passed she had her phone out either taking a pic or video. My video shows her plate clearly in the beginning in case ever something comes about from it.

Do you guys hide your cameras when its sunny out? I don't, and my Thinkware X300 seems to be going out. Hasn't recorded a single thing for the last 5 days even though it says the typical "continuous recording is now starting" on bootup. Didn't think to check my SD card out till I wanted to pull a video from earlier. Seems to have failed the other day when on my way home. Almost made it home before it stopped recording completely.

That being said, I just ordered this to replace it. $120 seems okay for a Korean cam with 128 gb card support.

I leave mine plugged in (hardwired constant on) during the medium to cool months. During the summer months, I pull it down every time I park, even in the shade. My cam gets hots on its own (like most do), so while its on and it is summertime, it will overheat way too easily. I wish I could afford an HD setup that can stay mounted and turned on 24/7 and not die from getting too hot or melting in direct sunlight.
