Yep... and numbnutz then turned left into a shopping center less than 1/4 mile down from the light. Said shopping center has no Urgent Care facility, drug store, nor is it on the way towards a hospital.

You two might be on to something. There is a night club off to the left of where he stopped.

I hate when trucks park like that blocking anyone's view from pulling out. If I was that Hyundai and got in an accident because of it, you'd bet your ass I'd be going after that trucks owner.

Driving down, minding my own business, all eyes on the road. My Spidey senses some fool about to give no fuks by not bothering to look if there are any cars driving by before he swings his door wide open. I react fairly quickly if I do say so myself. I wonder who would have been at-fault if there was contact made?

Keep an eye on your right, the small Honda in front of the blue Dodge pickup.

Yep, that's a real danger for bicyclists too.

I'm unsure how the fault sorts out, I imagine it's situational. On one hand there are streets where the moving vehicle has no business being so close to the parked cars that they'd hit an opening door, and there are streets where there isn't enough space to allow for an opening door.

Something similar happened to my buddy. He was pulling into a parking spot, and a woman threw her door open when he was already halfway in the spot, causing him to hit it and bust his headlight and a few other parts. He claimed she opened her door quickly, she claimed he drove too fast into the parking spot. It was all he said she said, so no one was at fault. I'd imagine without video evidence like yours, it'd be a similar situation.

Another driver not sharing the road! I sometimes think about picking up a few DMV driver's handbooks and chucking them at these types of drivers in L.A. You know, to remind them how not to drive.
And I'll be fair, I'll get get them in both Spanish and Chinese.
