The thing that impressed me most in firearms training was how quick I could get shot in a real fight.

I drive quite a bit so one of these would be a good investment. I see crazy stuff far to often.

I just got mine and a hardwiring kit and an SD card for $115. Drop in the hat compared to what you could potentially save in an insurance claim where you need to claim fault.

It turns out I missed a good Arizona one cause I cocked up the settings and it got overwritten.

    My two Pennsylvania ones:

This person decided that "green arrow" meant "go straight through not one but two red lights" at a sort of silly intersection where two T's meet at a slight offset.

And this person decided that looking before swinging out for a U-turn was thoroughly unnecessary, luckily I was already wise to their shit and went way wide.

Neither are particularly exciting in a cursing, slamming on the brakes sort of way, but really makes you scratch your head sometimes.

Just a dummy not driving properly, wanting to cut across a few lanes, mostly annoying.

... and *another* reason for a dash cam... Evidence to use if falsely accused.

From BlackBoxMyCar's FB feed, this guy was pulled over for running a red light that was actually green, and visible as such in the video.

BTW - make sure you know whether your state is one or two party consent for audio recordings.

This is my full unedited encounter with some retard in my small town. Didn't want to post it because the general consensus is that I'm an asshole for impeding traffic. Momma said I deliberately drove slower to irritate him. Whatever. Watch for yourselves.

At the end he pulls up alongside me and we have an exchange of words. He calls me an asshole, threatens to drag me out the car, etc. I had to keep my cool because my mother was with me.

Whatever. The guy didn't come to a complete stop at ANY of the stop signs, so driving 5-10 below the limit is just being safe.

Assholes will be assholes no matter what you do, so ignore it.

Exactly. I'm armed occasionally but I don't kid myself about how shit actually works if I happen to be the target of something random.

I have the A119C without GPS, its been great for the last several months! I just need to get a different SD card, the SanDisk cards don't get along with dash cams particularly well sometimes. Not really worth having the cam and gambling whether or not it will save the video when you need it.

Many cards don't handle the high heat environment of dash cam duty very well or for very long. Sandisk even excludes that use from warranty coverage. Most are "TLC" cards and for dash cam use you want an "MLC" card. See here for more detailed info: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/mlc-microsd-cards.10294/

Note the referenced post is two years old, take the card brand / model list with a big grain of salt. I know that in February this year Lexar made some change to the 128GB 633x cards which caused new units to not work in some dashcams the model had previously been working fine in.

Choices today? BlackVue and Thinkware of course sell their own cards for mucho $$$. BV is likely a rebranded ADATA card.
Here's a discussion thread on MLC cards with recommendations: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/microsd-options-including-mlc-cards.26035/

I've also seen a couple people recommend Silicon Power brand but I haven't tried it myself: https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Endurance-Security-SP064GBSTXIU3V10SP/dp/B06WLGV3RX

My rear camera fell off the back window and was dangling from the usb cable this morning. I guess this heat and baking in the sun all weekend finally weakened the adhesive enough.

Nice. I'll give that a try soon. In the process of moving, and will be selling the truck soon enough, so when I transfer it to the new vehicle, I'll give this a shot. For now I just stuck it back up. Oddly enough, the front window dash cam is still holding strong. The rear one was the one that fell.

Mine was more the little bit of plastic where the mount and suction cup meet. I put some epoxy on it and we'll see if it can hold up. Hopefully it will until after I get back from my trip in July.
