Exactly. I'm armed occasionally but I don't kid myself about how shit actually works if I happen to be the target of something random.

I have the A119C without GPS, its been great for the last several months! I just need to get a different SD card, the SanDisk cards don't get along with dash cams particularly well sometimes. Not really worth having the cam and gambling whether or not it will save the video when you need it.

Many cards don't handle the high heat environment of dash cam duty very well or for very long. Sandisk even excludes that use from warranty coverage. Most are "TLC" cards and for dash cam use you want an "MLC" card. See here for more detailed info: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/mlc-microsd-cards.10294/

Note the referenced post is two years old, take the card brand / model list with a big grain of salt. I know that in February this year Lexar made some change to the 128GB 633x cards which caused new units to not work in some dashcams the model had previously been working fine in.

Choices today? BlackVue and Thinkware of course sell their own cards for mucho $$$. BV is likely a rebranded ADATA card.
Here's a discussion thread on MLC cards with recommendations: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/microsd-options-including-mlc-cards.26035/

I've also seen a couple people recommend Silicon Power brand but I haven't tried it myself: https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Endurance-Security-SP064GBSTXIU3V10SP/dp/B06WLGV3RX

My rear camera fell off the back window and was dangling from the usb cable this morning. I guess this heat and baking in the sun all weekend finally weakened the adhesive enough.

Nice. I'll give that a try soon. In the process of moving, and will be selling the truck soon enough, so when I transfer it to the new vehicle, I'll give this a shot. For now I just stuck it back up. Oddly enough, the front window dash cam is still holding strong. The rear one was the one that fell.

Mine was more the little bit of plastic where the mount and suction cup meet. I put some epoxy on it and we'll see if it can hold up. Hopefully it will until after I get back from my trip in July.

Nuthin crazy, but finally caught my first dash cam capture that was noteworthy the other day. Ran the stop sign.. NO other cars behind me so she could've waited 5 seconds, instead of making me slow down. Which is annoying as fuck sometimes that people can't wait on this highway. Happens often. But she punched it as soon as she saw me behind her and continued speeding up probly 20mph over the speed limit. Caught up to her 3 minutes later, she punches it into the turning lane around the car she got stuck behind, only to get to a red light. Stopped beside her until she noticed me to give her the virtual thumbs up (for all that time she saved) with the 10 second glare I gave her. lol.

I'm on my 3rd dash cam. Super happy with my current Thinkware F770. Just hope it lasts more than a few years since I dropped about $400 on it (I got the optional rear facing camera). My first cam was a Mini 0801 and it was a great little cam for $90 and lasted about 2 years. Then I got a Mini 0805 and I did not like it. Didn't even make it a whole year. Keep in mind though, I live in Phoenix and the summers are fucking brutal here. The Mini 080x cams are great for easy removal from their base. I always stored them in my center console when not driving. The Thinkware F770 is a bitch to remove from the base. The power cable requires you to pry it out with a key, otherwise you'll probably wreck the cable/port by pulling on it and my fingers are too fat to reach into the recessed area to pinch and pull them out. I can snap a picture if anyone is interested. So basically, I leave it mounted 24/7 and do my best to park in the shade or away from the sun. I've also disabled the parking more feature until the triple digits of summer go away.

Also have the A119 just without the GPS. It's a DAMN fine camera for under $100. The quality is amazing!

That really depends on what you want out of it.... There's a wide range of price, features, etc.

I have a Thinkware F770 dual-channel in my Tacoma, and a BlackVue DR650S-2Ch in my car. I wanted parking mode and both front & rear cameras. Shape / fitment is slight different between them is partly why I didn't go with the same for both vehicles. I'm happy with both though.

Check out BlackBoxMyCar.com for a lot of info on various cameras and capabilities.
