dash cam conversion

    Hello TW
    I have an older dashcam with a broken input to cigarette lighter. Is it possible to just cut the ends and hardwire the leads? It says on housing 12 volt input, 5 volt output.( see pics).IMG_0401.jpg IMG_0400.jpg

    Sure. You can hardwire the input to a fused circuit. The other option is to pick up a voltage reducer that steps down from 12V to 5V and hardwire that into a fused circuit.
