Centered is good. I forget mine’s there all the time. About every 3-4 months I remember and pull out the card just to make sure it’s still recording.

I used a Rexing V1 Car Dash Cam, Go Pro mount, a Dremel tool, and Gorilla glue to bring it all together. Worked out great, and is a clean and simple install.

Is this the exact mount that you used? TIA.

Just trying to wrap my head around this. Is the bigger rectangular piece the part that comes with and is the F800 mount and the buckle gopro piece is the Rexing to gopro adapter that comes from Shapeways? So you'd remove the tab from the Rexing adapter to flatten it out so it'll fit into the builtin gopro mount on the Tacoma and you glue and/or attach the 2 piecies together to make one piece? I think i got it but i just want to make sure since I don't have an F800 but am looking at getting the F800 Pro. Then I'm told Thinkware is coming out with a 2K version soon. Hopefully it'll have the same form factor. TIA?
I'm thinking I'll wire it at the radio connectors. I've ordered pass through cables so I won't have to cut factory wires. And it won't be so cluttered by the fuse box. One day, I'm gonna put a relay box under the hood and just wire everything to it.

yes you have it. actually I didn't do it because after further research the TSS camera housing was going to be in the view of the camera no matter how I placed the F800 on the gopro mount. ive got to do a little more R&D probably make a small plate with a joggle in it that will put the f800 lens right on the windshield.

You've confused me a little. On my truck, the TSS is completely behind the rearview mirror and the gopro mount is a good ways to the right of that. I have the 2018 3rd gen Tacoma Limited. I don't see how the TSS could interfere with the cam.

because of the F800 field of view. If you use the shapeways mount into the existing gopro mount the F800 sits about 3/8 of an inch from the windshield and allows the TSS housing to be seen in the left. you dont get a clean view

That's the 1st mention I've heard of that. Nice to know. Or not nice to know.

Does anyone else that's mounted this way have this problem?

I'm actually trying to do just this, but not understanding how the items you linked would work. My Garmin 65 came with a little 8mm ball mount. I can't find anything that has this size ball and connects to a GoPro clip.

Call GPS city, they will tell you. I had to copy the links they posted from another forum, I couldn’t copy the post.

Holy hell how do you get the damned shapeway mount out... i feel like either the gopro mount is going to break or the rexing/shapeway mount is gonna break! I'd like to swap between gopro and dashcam sometimes and it doesn't want to budge... needle nose pliers maybe???

I buy the cheapest dash cams on Ebay and they seems to last 3-4 years. I look for the ones with the screw in type that adapt to the go-pro mount. Not that hard to find on Ebay!

I had to add the white go pro piece into the mount to keep it stable but it works well. The arm is a motorcycle helmet mount. Dashcam is the Z-EDGE Z4.
