    Hello friends,

Cam has two power connections. One power on with key on or off - full time power. The other powered on only when running - key switched.

For the “key switched” power, I’ll use the circuit for the rear power windows that don’t exist on this model. Thank you Toyota.

What is a good circuit to tap for the “full time power?”

Full time power is needed for when someone bumps me in the parking lot. I expect minimal power draw from the dash camera on this circuit, but I have not measured it.

    is what I’m installing.

Note: I didn’t and wouldn’t pay the listed price for that dashcam… it was on sale when I ordered it.

You're better off running a fused wire through the firewall. It's super easy.

    Straight to battery + ?

I could go there or anywhere in the main fuse box behind the battery.

I would go straight to the battery. I only use fuse taps when I plan on using it to trigger a relay on a new circuit.

Dongar makes an accessory for the electronic mirrors. Im not sure if yours is prewired for that, but i was able to plug that into mine

I grabbed all my power connection from the wiring for the ignition key. Soldered and fused of course.
