Not in several years. I've had some years ago that have frozen and they had a reset switch that fixed it but that was seriously over 5 years ago. Although many cams I've tested and reviewed I use for less than a month so it's hard to test reliability.

I've had several blackvue cams in the past (all older than 3 years ago tho, newer models have seemed more reliable) that would shut off due to over heating but that's more of a safety switch. Up until this spring I also owned a Prius and ran my blackvue in that and a thinkware in my Tacoma and when I sold my Prius I decided to go with blackvue as my main cam but I'll admit thinkware cams never gave me issues with overheating. I've run a lot of viofo, thinkware, and blackvue cams long term and thinkware has seemed the most reliable. Viofo has had spotty reliability historically but they seem to be getting better every year.

Ok cool, understandable. Overheating would most likely be the cause in my situation, considering it has happened across the few brands I've owned. Not much cover from the sun in my neighborhood.

If you don't mind, could bug you for one last question? What cam would you suggest for anytime wifi live access? I would like to check on my truck 24/7 from anywhere. Would I need to integrate a wifi hot spot/hub into the truck? Again thank you for letting me pick your brain.

Hey man, sorry for the late reply. I've since driven my truck a bunch so there would be hundreds of little 3 minute clips to sift through to find that specific incident. If you want just general footage to see the video quality i can grab a video for you.
