Dude fantastic thread and thanks for providing all the info!

One question. On the f800 can you disable the voice when you enter the vehicle that tells you the events while parked?

Damn, the wires hanging out of the 800 are not aesthetically pleasing. Also, that rear video time gap is also a con. Sigh, now I'm not sure if I should wait for next year's model or what.

Yup, I was 100% on board with the f800 until I saw the time gap. That is definitely an instance you want your 400 dollar camera to catch on video lol. 1-2 seconds sooner if you were in a hurry and it misses the whole thing. The wiring placements suck but I could get over that after a while. On the fence now

its not just the rear video, its just front or rear, when it switches from parking mode to normal recording. so basically that means anytime you start your car while it was in parking mode, you would want to wait 15 seconds before driving off in the event you get in a parking lot accident like I almost did.

yea i couldn't believe they did that. makes me really think they are just going to release another model next year that once again fixes an aesthetic issue that they already fixed last year. irks me a bit.

i am getting the f800 pro sent real soon.

my dr750s review should be up soon, and then I likely will do a direct comparison video to help people decide between them. the blacksys ch-200 is a decent option too but disappointing in many other ways. i really dislike the form factor of the blacksys cams.

what are some good dash cameras with a screen that can be also used as a back up camera planning on getting rear bumper with swing out so the stock rear back up camera will most likely be blocked. looking at options for both a dash cam with rear camera that I can use while driving but also records and has park mode?

honestly I dont think there is any cam that does all that except the blackvue truck cam but since it doesn't have a screen you would also need to buy the LCD screen adapter. the camera alone is $429 with the smallest card and no hard wire kit: https://www.blackboxmycar.com/colle...vue-dr650s-2ch-truck?variant=1942694529&aff=3

then the rear view camera kit is another $130 https://www.blackboxmycar.com/colle...e-r-100-rearview-kit?variant=7189418625%aff=3

so you could mount that rear camera somewhere on your swing out, its water proof, and it will be recording at all times including parking mode, and the rear view kit allows you to wire it into your trucks lcd video input.

I haven't seen anyone use this setup before tho, I would love to see one set up.

there was one that street guardian made where you can add a rear camera and when you switched to reverse the camera LCD screen showed the rear camera view, but it never recorded the rear camera.

there really is no good option, i wanted one for years but I don't see it being something other than a really expensive niche product for companies with fleet vehicles, or really cheap chinese crap that doesnt have the quality most consumers in america want.

Good to know thanks for your input! wasent really sure what i was wanting was possible. Might be best to buy my dash cam as a stand alone and just extend or relocate the factory back up camera since its already there.

Yup when I muted it in the settings it did not alert you of the parking events, that was a big complaint from the previous f770 model.

Installed Blackvue DR590 2ch. the other day. Since I have the ImMrYo mirror relocater on the mirror it was easy to mount but the wires are not run in with the mirror wires. Tucked the wires up under the head liner to the A frame pillar. Pulled the O.S. handle off and the trim pulled right off and pulled the weather seal down, wires went right down. Pulled the kick paned off on the drivers side along with the door sill plates to the back. At this time I wired up the BlackVue Power Magic Pro to the fuse box inside the cab. Since the ACC is a constant on add a fuse there for battery power, and add a fuse to the D RR P/W fuse spot for switched on and well the fuse goes to ground as you all know. Next I drilled and cut a hole in the bottom of the fuse/change holder to pull connector for the P Magic control. Ran the wire for the rear camera alond the door sill pulled the weather seal at the back door, (I have a Access Cab) p to the top. Puller the wire up and behind, pushed up to the headliner and at the rear window pulled the headliner back and grabbed the wire. Idon't use my slidder so thats where I mounted the rear camera in the way that if the slidder was opened the wire would either pull out of the camera or out of the headliner. Put it all back together and fired it up all a ok. Been playing around with settings, have only gone 1/4 mile round trip to farm up the road and back. Maiden voyage wil be Fri. morning.
Sorry for the lack of pictures but all was done with left arm and right arm restricted I had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago.
