I'm trying to figure out how to use a switch on the left side switches to allow switching the constant battery lead of the dash cam hard wire on and off. Unfortunately if I just use a simple 'on/off' switch dash cam wouldn't turn on in "off" position as camera only uses ACC wire to tell it that car is on and to get off parking mode. So what I was thinking is a switch that would be wired to both battery and ACC, and toggle dash cam constant lead between the two. i.e. with switch in position 1 constant 12v, with switch in position 2 accessory switched 12v only on when car running. Do you know of a switch that would do this fit in the Toyota blank switch position to left of steering wheel?
Thought is to allow me to switch off dash cam to stop constant drain and cycling of the battery when I park at home and places that are secure (75% of the time), but allow use of parking mode with voltage tender only when I feel it's needed. Figure this will help preserve battery longevity and risk of coming back to dead battery.

You'll have to take some turpentine to the lettering, but I think what might work is another 100w/400w inverter switch.

Its a 3 way push button switch. (off/on/on)

It would have to be wired up the right way, but I don't know if it would reset itself after the truck is turned on/off.

I'm assuming by "ACC wire" you mean a switched 12v source?

I don't understand why you couldn't use an inline on/off switch on the main/constant 12v.

Starting with the truck off and switch in "off" position:
    - turn truck on, switched 12v is on, but main is still off, so camera remains off
    - flip switch to "on," giving main power in addition to switched 12v, camera turns on
    - turn truck off, switched 12v disappears, but main power remains, so camera should go into parking mode
    - flip switch to "off," main power disappears, camera shuts off
    - flip switch to "on," main power is back, switched 12v is off, so camera should turn on and go into parking mode

Leave the switch in "on" to let the camera do its parking mode/full mode automatically, or put the switch to "off" to forcefully shut it off when you're parked at home. Seems to cover all your requirements, no?

you could also use a nc 12v relay i have attached a rough circuit. it would effectively disconnect the constant 12v when the ignition acc power was applied and default to the hot with ig off.circuit.jpg

switch would operate normally on-off in either scenario

I was thinking I would need a switch between accessory(switched) and battery (constant) so that the cam would work regardless of the position of switch. Not looking for a master switch to disconnect everything. The hard wiring kit I'm using has switched, constant and ground and a battery minder so that when voltage drops below a certain voltage (~12.2V) it cuts off. This way camera still operates in parking mode until battery is drained below 12.2V. But the power to the camera is the battery lead. I can connect battery lead on wiring kit to switched fuse and then camera only operates when car running (no parking mode). But I want ability to attach to battery/constant fuse and use parking mode with 12.2V cutoff when I want (~15-20% of time), but ability to flip a switch and turn camera to run only when car running (other 80% of time). I was hoping to come up with a solution that would easily tuck into a switch blank and be easy to access. If that makes sense. Goal is less routine drain and cycling on battery for majority of time that I don't need parking mode.

0210 that would work but I'd have to switch on and off to use camera. If I can just make lead switch between constant and switched, the cam works for driving in either position. So the only time I'd flip switch is when I want parking mode, rather than having to flip switch every time I get in car.

Cazzwell, that switch looks perfect in terms of function, but it always switches to off when you turn off car. But the idea of a switch that cycles from off-->constant-->switched, would work for sure.

This is what I was thinking. Is there a switch that is plug and play with toyota switch blank on left dash?

Wound up going with Vicovation Power Plus as is has a low voltage and overheat cutoff as well as a switch where you can do exactly what I was looking for above, cut off constant battery power and only run on switched mode. Now quite a stock Toyota switch on the dash, but more functional overall.
