No doubt you have good points regarding distortion and all on lower quality cameras... but I am interested to know how you got 4 different shots of the same car passing you by at 30mph in 4 different resolutions... =]]] in any case I stand by what I wrote with no bias if you are peddling cameras there is no need to forcefeed your side of the story.

although good cameras are in linear format even at 170 degrees so there is no image distortion. =]

    Happy 4th !!!!!!!

I don't sell cams just review them on YouTube haha. There's definitely a lot of factors for the video quality that's for sure.

I was running all 4 different cams side by side for my review of the new viofo a119 V3, I wanted to show the difference in quality with previous models.

here is the full video plus the night one i did. the new a119 v3 is fantastic and the A129 is still a great 2 channel system, especially at night.

I have not heard of it. The fact that they don't mention the rear camera resolution or mention buffered parking mode makes me think the camera is probably way over priced. The high end is dominated by blackvue and thinkware.

this is best for rear tinted window it says
    https://www.blackvue.com/dr900s-2ch/

why can i NOT copy paste a picture of this camera into here?
it looks like it just clips on the mirror and NOT the windshield, I prefer not to have on windshield!

installing them is super easy i wouldnt bother paying anyone, especially if you get a blackvue cam and use their power magic ez hardwire kit. it just plugs into your OBDII port. tucking the cables into the ceiling is super easy. I wired my rear camera to my toppers rear window through the floor and even that was easy. I never did any of this kind of stuff before trying it when I first got into dash cams.

the blackvue cams all stick right onto the windshield. pretty much any good cams do because ideally you want the lens as close the the glass as possible, it reduces glare. i know blendmount makes a blackvue mount to attach to your mirror instead tho. but for the rear cam its gotta go on the glass.

I use the dr900s-2ch in my daily driver car and i love it. the only big issue i have with it is on really hot days if i park outside all day it can over heat. if it senses its getting to hot it shuts itself off tho to protect it from damage. but it can be annoying since that means parking mode is disabled when its too hot. the one time it happend to me i had to run the camera in front of my AC to cool it down. but that was when i was parked outside int he sun all day long on a 90+ degree day.

I have had three Cobras fail on me, manufacturer was great in replacing under warranty. They are very easy to navigate through the menus. Nonetheless I too would look elsewhere.

Are there any front/rear cams that tap into the Taco displays, or an aftermarket head unit?

I don't like any system where I have to keep yet another display prominently mounted on the windshield. I already use the factory HU screen, and nav from my phone (screen 2). Would consider replacing factory radio with another HU if this got me to a single screen for radio, (phone)BT/Car Play/Android Auto, AND cam solution.

    Does this even exist?

For cheapskates or those on a budget......I got two Garmin Dash Cams, a #30 and a #35 for about a $100. for both ....with memory cards included. ...Refurbished from Amazon.

10,000 trouble free miles so far on the #35 and 2,000 miles on the #30.

I got one of the newly released Garmin Dash Cam mini's. Super low profile.

I put it right behind the passenger side of the rearview mirror and I can't even see it when i'm driving.

Highly recommend it. Great quality video too.

I've had a Viofo A119 in my car for 2 years and every time I've pulled the footage it's been great. It's getting moved to one of my trucks now

Viofo a129 duo is a great cam with a screen on the main front camera. It also has WiFi so you can send files to your phone.

All the high end cams with no screens also have WiFi so you don't need a PC, except the blackvue dr590-2ch because that has no wifi and you need to use the pc/Mac software to change settings. The dr590w-2ch does have WiFi tho, any models higher than that from blackvue have wifi.

If the viofo a129 is more than you want to spend the aukey dr02 is a decent budget front + rear cam.
