How did you run the wiring from the topper forward? my ARE DCU topper has a rear window, and am toying with the idea of dual cams. need to run a 12v feed from the battery for interior lights anyway, so might as well run any other required wiring at the same time.

Need to decide what model of DC to use, that will stand up to the abuse of tools/materials etc or i'll have to make a poly-carb enclosure to protect it or something.

My rear cam goes along the trim of the passenger side, then under the plastic trim around the door frame i wired it under the carpet thru a firewall under the passenger seat. if you look under your truck under the passenger seat you will see other cords coming through there. then i used some plastic tubing to offer some protection, used zip ties to tie it to the frame or other parts where other wires already were, then it comes up between the tailgate door.

Attach the ground to the nearest screw that's attached to the body (metal) there's one close to the fuse box. As for the accessory wire, refer to the fuse map and pick a fuse that's on when the car is in ACC mode. Radio/Stereo is one. I strongly recommend you get a fuse tap to make it easy and safe install. Fuse taps can be picked up at pep boys, oriely or auto zone.

The wiring kit has taps for 12v and acc. I think I'm going to use dome light for 12v and igc2 for acc. For ground I'll use the bolt that mounts the fuse box. Unfortunately with the taps, I can't put the cover back on.

For a really cheap setup, it works great! I had to modify the top of the bracket to get over the mirror wire cover and let the trim sit flat on the windshield. The quality of the recording is real good, even at night. Yup, the fuse box cover is in the glove box!

I went the cheap route and bought the "HD Mirror Cam" off TV. I have to say it''s kind of cool. Straps right over the existing mirror. Not sure how long it will last but so far so good

Anyone have experience with the Momento5 dash cam. Front and rear. It would be professionaly installed. As a matter of fact any
Dashcam I end up with would be professionally installed. I have no patience or ability for such things.
