Here's a clip from my F770 rear camera in the rear window of my DCSB. I may try rotating it down a hair, but am unsure whether it'd really matter or not. :)

Finally got around to installing mine today! I chose the street guardian SG9665GC. I mounted mine a little lower than some because I was worried about the adhesive on those little black "sun shade" dots- I didn't want to end up with the adhesive falling off, or ripping the little dots off if I ever removed the mount. Hides almost completely behind the rear view mirror from the driver's perspective.

Aside from it being cold as hell install went pretty easily, tucked the wire into the headliner, down the weatherstripping along the door, and then under the dash. I will eventually zip tie and wrangle the remainder of wiring under there, but my fingers were freezing. I chose not to hard wire at this point, as I don't feel like going into the wiring harness. The 12v power dong is annoying, but not the end of the world. Also iffy on using the GPS module, just because it's not really required and another thing to figure out how to hide.

I actually managed to get my wire completely inside the weather stripping over that little hump, it took a little bit of fiddling but it popped right in.

I'll have a better idea of how much I like it later once I actually fiddle with the settings and have some hours behind it! I already feel much better about encounters with wild idiots.

    About those, see here: http://www.dedona.com/the-purpose-of-the-frit-black-band-and-spots-on-windshield/

If your mount is using 3M VHB tape (which most things use), no worries about the frit material. After cutting through the tape with dental floss or similar, roll whatever is left off of the glass. Any residue / residual can be removed with 3M's adhesive remover for the tape.

Looks like a nice dash cam, do post up how you like it once you've used it a while.

FYI the A pillar removes pretty easy with two bolts on the passenger side (in the grab handle) or one bolt under the SRS emblem on the driver side. My personal preference is to do it that way so the wiring isn't between you (or your passenger) and the airbag in the pillar.

looks much better than I was expecting! i grabbed some footage from my rear F770 cam in my toppers rear window. will upload tonight.

also, its typically recommended to not have more than 30-40% of the screen showing sky due to exposure. sometimes a dashboard, or in your case a black bed cover might affect the exposure too but I would just try it, watch some footage and decide for yourself it it looks better or not.

...^^^... This is the problem with the windshield mounted GoPro.

I can lose the dash cam ... but don't want my truck destroyed trying to get to steal the dash cam.

I mount the GoPro or any dash cam on a small sand bag type dash mount that sits on the dash and I put in the floor when I stop.

You should lower the camera. You're getting too much of the sky so the camera white balancing is going to favor the sky and not where you want the best quality which is below the horizon.

Just ordered the Blackvue 2 channel 650 w/power magic pro. Lets hope my install can look as clean as some of the ones I have seen in here.

Okay so here's a new one... attack from above!

We had a snowfall / icestorm here and there's still a bunch of ice on stuff even though the roads have cleared off. I had the luck to stop under the opposite side's left-turn signal when a bit of ice dropped. No damage that I can see, but I've not looked real close yet. (at 7s I added some slowed-down video of the ice to show detail)

Next time you upload a video, do not let youtube "stabilize" it. Your dashcam is solidly attached, but youtube's shitty algorithm sees your wipers as "someone filming with a shaky hand" so it makes that nauseating wavy effect you see every time the wipers wipe. Also notice your timestamp on the bottom keeps wiggling around. Youtube can be dumb at times, their auto-stabilization is one of my pet peeves.

My install, credit goes to @i8boots for inspiration:

Hid everything above the overhead console for a clean install. Almost looks factory.

Hood/bed lights, pop-n-lock, RSI EvoA, fully custom fuse box, Husky mudflaps, white interior LEDs, Morimoto xB v2 Headlights, Bilstein 6112/5160, Sumo Springs, Meso puddle pods and overhead lights, anytime backup mod, light out in reverse mod, ac drain mod, Calirased CAT protectors, ARB Dual Air in bed.
That looks nice! I like the pins into the mirror. I was already running a power line in from under the hood so I just spliced off of that and left all the factory stuff alone.

When I got my remote start installed I had the company do a tint strip at the top of my window. It overlaps with the bump / shading and hides the camera really well but doesn't block the view.

I already had the 12v to 5v converter from a previous dashcam install and spliced that into the pin connector harness. It worked out really well. I used your BOM for the GoPro mounting which is genius. The Mobius works great and is pretty damn compact. I was really surprised.
